About

FRENETIKA has you take control of a Mage trapped in the domain of the Bone God, Osso. Inspired by games like Vampire Survivors, Devil Daggers, and Risk of Rain 2, along with the dark-fantasy minds of Moebius, Plastiboo, and Lloyd Alexander, and featuring a soundtrack by dungeon-synth pioneer Witch Bolt.
In an endless series of combat arenas hand-crafted to maximize fast, frenetic combat, players cast spells to defeat the skeletal servants of Osso sent to kill the invading Mage. As these servants are dispatched, their bones are collected and used to purchase crystal fractals - upgrades - which improve and change the Mage's three core spells. What combination will you find to finally extinguish Osso's oppressing darkness?
Also included in FRENETIKA is a novella detailing how the Mage found herself in Osso's domain. Find all five volumes hidden throughout the game and you'll be given a password to unlock the e-book version of the novella that's included in the game files.
***FRENETIKA IS AN AI-FREE GAME. NO AI OR LLM WAS USED IN THE CREATION OF ANY ASSET IN THIS GAME (TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE DEVELOPER)***

I'm into it. This is my cup of tea. I like the vibes and the soundtrack is cool. Could use some polishing but I like it and hope it receives more attention. I get that maybe it's not for everyone, but it's for me.
Very early on! But the art style alone makes this game worth it. Especially given it uses no AI and is completely made by humans. Pros: Extremely unique art style and world The lore pick-ups to unlock the free novel is an awesome idea! The difficulty levels appear to be well balanced Lore is intriguing and makes you actually want to learn more about the world MUSIC IS AMAING! Someone should tell the devs to put their music out there on different platforms :) Cons: ~On an OLED monitor you may get headache' from how vibrant the world is. The art style is so colorful, that in a few of the starting worlds I had to turn down my OLED monitor because it was hard to look at the screen. If you get migrains easily just be aware. ~ Combat. I totally get the creative decision to do the combat the way the dev did. It sort of reminds of Megabonk is a strange way. The game will spell cast for you on a preset time (can improve fire rate with level ups) But personally I want more control over spell casting. In a first person setting it just feels odd having to wait for the spell to cast and it breaks the immersion for me. Especially given the world setting and how lore rich it is. I think changing that system could be balanced by smaller mana pool and still requiring the player to manually regen mana. And it would be nice to have SOME reference for aiming. Summary: Overall really awesome and unique game that's well worth $6.99. I'm excited to see more of this world and to continue to play!
Very fresh and unique gameplay & I absolutely love the style. While it draws a bit from other genres, It feels very much like its own unique thing. Combat is fast paced and high energy. At first I found it difficult, but the game really asks you to play around with the various spells and level layouts--pretty quickly I was getting into the groove and finding new strategies to get farther each run. Looking forward to sacrificing more bones to the calcium collector, but more importantly excited to see more from this dev!
