このゲームは、発売時の観点からその独創性を評価されたゲームです。 もとから人外エネミーや弓兵とパリィの相性はかなり悪いというのはこのゲームが出る前からすでに知られていたものだとてっきり思っていましたが、違ったようですね。 ちゃんとした剣戟を楽しむなら、ほかのゲーム（rise of the roninなど）をお勧めしたいです。

Learning the movesets of enemies and bosses gave me enough confidence to act but learning to conquer my hesitation ensured that act without delay. hated it, kept playin, loved it, finished it. This game was a breath of fresh air.

일반적인 소울라이크와 달리 빠른 템포의 전투, 다양한 공격 옵션을 제공해 소울라이크를 하는게 아닌 적과 격투 게임을 하는 듯한 느낌을 준다. 소울라이크는 장르 특유의 묵직한 전투가 답답하고 적응하기 힘들어서 기피했다면 세키로를 해보는 걸 추천한다. 엔딩 이후에 비슷한 시스템을 차용한 게임이 더 있나 찾아볼 정도로 너무 재밌게 플레이했다. 난이도도 적당하고 소울류 특유의 길찾기도 쌩뚱맞게 숨겨져 있는게 아니라 인게임 내에서 충분한 단서를 제공해준다. 액션 게임을 좋아하는 사람이라면 꼭 한번은 해봐야하는 게임이다.
