About
Seafrog is an action-platformer mashed with the movement of lite-skateboarding. Grind, kick-flip and find the flow with a rocket-powered wrench that moves smoother than a buttered beluga!
String together combos by using a simple auto-trick system, landing grinds on enemies and rusty pipes to fuel up your rocket-wrench! Use the fuel to boost through enemies, fly straight up walls, and stick to ceilings in order to complete over 100 handcrafted challenges!
Each chapter in Seafrog is based on a ships theme. Battle vengeful Viking ghosts aboard the Sea Dragon. Dig in for an unsavory meal aboard the Chunky Chacken, where you’ll discover a man-eating chicken outbreak. Finally, get ready for some monkey business at The Sweater Factory, an abandoned workshop run by an unexpected crew of apes causing all the ruckus. Each chapter holds a Master Gear, guarded by an ultimate boss.
Battle the legendary Skraken, Metal Beak the Momma Chacken, and... Gerald. Face these colorful 'n crusty foes to retrieve the Master Gears and repair your cannon. Blast yourself to a stranded seaplane to escape the seahole, a mysterious sinking hole in the ocean… before ye end up in Davy Jones' Locker!

Mashing up elements of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games with classic 2D Metroidvanias and splashing on a coat of Mega Man Legends paint, Seafrog manages to set itself apart from its inspirations and emerge as a fun and unique experience. While its challenges can occasionally be vaguely defined or seem impossible to execute (you may want to keep a longplay video handy), for the most part it's a well-balanced yet challenging game that doesn't wear out its welcome.
Seafrog is a really charming game where you get to do fun skateboard tricks and collect shiny things. The movement is really fluid and fun!
Seafrog is a 2D collectathon with mechanics reminiscent of THPS. You are always going to be doing tricks and there are quite a few platforming puzzles that test your knowledge of the mechanics. Sometimes it's a bit jank, but the overall package is quite a lot of fun. Most of my problems with the game were actually resolved via an update that occurred during my playthrough. The game is way more forgiving now. Also the game is not as linear as the level design indicates.
Turns out a skateboarding and metroidvania hybrid works really well. It's a lot of fun to zoom through the different ships, each with their own gimmicks and level hazards. There's plenty to do, such as challenge courses, navigational puzzles, and score attacks. The game won't hold your hand, so you'll need to search every area carefully to find new platforming abilities or items needed to progress. The map is very useful, as it'll show what items are in each room but not where they are, so it's still up to you to actually find them. The game looks great, sounds great, and plays great.

This game is a phenomenal disappointment. On a systems level there's a lot to like here but the level design is utterly miserable to playthrough. None of the screens are set up to do fun combos in exciting ways, they're all just there to push you into level hazards and cut your combos apart for seemingly no reason. If the levels were fun this game would be awesome but as is it's inherently not fun. You even lose currency on dying a la souls games which is completely anathema to the genre. I'd even probably be able to forgive all this stuff if navigating the game wasn't so painful but it's borderline impossible to tell where you are and where you're supposed to be going.
Only got an hour in this so far but this game desperately needs the reviews. Very cute and fun 2d skateboarding platformer type game. It's definitely something you should check out if the gameplay even looks slightly fun to you. I'm just shocked this game is so unknown with barely any reviews. I'm very critical of games too so I'm not just going to rate it positively for the sake of it. It's a good game and that's all you need to know.
I thought the movement mechanics in the video looked fun. It turns out they were! They're very fun! If you think this looks good in the video, you should play it!
I haven't played much of this game (mainly because I feel I would probably be doing better with a controller, but I have been making it work just fine with keyboard) BUT I really like what I've played so far, fun game!
