About

Promising the Sabotage touch in every system, Sea of Stars aims to modernize the classic RPG in terms of turn-based combat, storytelling, exploration and interactions with the environment, while still offering a hearty slice of nostalgia and good old, simple fun.
Pressing the action button in sync with the animations increases damage output while reducing incoming damage. Along with timed hits, combat features multi-character combo attacks, boosting, and a strategic "locks" system offering options to play with different damage types in order to hinder enemies while they are channeling powerful attacks or spells, all in an immersive take on the genre; no random encounters, no transitions to separate battlefields, and no grinding.
Swim, climb, vault, jump off or hoist up ledges as you traverse seamlessly through the world with a navigation system based on platformer expertise that breaks free from the classic bound-to-the-grid tileset movement.
Our custom-made render pipeline allows the creation of a breathtaking world coming to life by pushing the limits of 2D pixel-art games.
Dozens of original characters and story arcs will take you on a captivating journey. Sometimes epic, sometimes silly, and other times emotional, Sea of Stars does its RPG duty of exploring classic themes of adventure and friendship, while also being chock-full of the unexpected twists and events you’d expect from a Sabotage production.
There are many ways to hang out in the world of Sea of Stars if you feel the need for a change of pace in your adventures. Sailing, cooking, fishing, stopping by a tavern to listen to a song or play the infamous tabletop game known as "Wheels".....every system has been designed to deliver an experience that pays respect to retro classics, while rethinking in some areas to offer a smooth and modernized experience.
Sea of Stars’ adventure is playable in its entirety by up to three players. Allies can drop in and out anytime to traverse the world together and master the Co-op Timed Hits combat mechanic. Also available via Steam Remote Play Together.

Even if I didn't like the story that much, the game is amazing. The graphics, the music... I played this at release, but I keep thinking about it from time to time... works well on potato laptops also, looks AMAZING on a CRT

It’s a good and fun game. The visuals and soundtracks are amazing. The plot is pretty decent. But the main downside is that some of the main characters feel a little bland. They kinda address this in the DLC but it honestly should’ve been part of the main game. The strength of this game is really in the battle mechanics. The turn-based with timed-button-press mechanics help keep players attentive. Then the combination of skill use, combos, boosted actions, and vulnerabilities of enemies create synergy for players to strategize their actions. I have mixed feelings about their puzzles. This game has A LOT of puzzles as you make your way through dungeons. While I can see they make the game more engaging than without them, a lot of them don't feel very well designed and obtuse at times. Compared to action adventure games like Zelda and games in that genre, it lacks intention. The main characters feel very flat in the main game. They have neither growth nor backstory. Honestly, I empathize more with the villains than our characters. There are also some homage scenes that aren’t clear to me if they add anything or just there for the sake of being an homage. But all in all, it’s a fun game. Like if you pick it up, I think you’ll probably have a good time and finish the game because it’s just really an engaging game even though I personally don’t have a strong feeling about it. I don't recommend against it, but I don't think it's a must-play either.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Sea of Stars is excellent. I really enjoyed just about everything the game had to offer, and I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews. That said, I can get where some of them are coming from. The combat gets a bit repetitive, but there's zero reason to grind at all in this game. To be honest, I actually prefer the grind in JRPGs, but Sea of Stars really balanced everything very well. I would say the only thing I wish the game had a bit more of was gear customization and a way to get larger, more impactful rewards from exploring. Some people don't like getting overpowered, but in this genre, I like to clear out just about everything and hunt down cool items that change the way my characters play. It's definitely something missing here. Otherwise, the environments are absolutely awesome. Huge art win, and huge soundtrack win. Some of the switches from HD2D to cinematic quality was so cool. In particular, there's a point that opens up the map a bit and caught me by surprise with how incredibly well done the art was. Lastly, this is going to be a decent JRPG story, and those familiar with the genre know what to expect. There are some really cool moments and a couple twists in the plot that I saluted when I was playing. These devs have a ton of heart! I really thing they made a great game here. Overall 8/10
Juegazo y todavía no lo he terminado, pero juegazo
Great old school RPG with that has a lot of QOL and customization to enjoy the experience. There's a lot of love put into this game. From the art, OST, cinematics, etc. The combat is simple but fun and the story is engaging. Heavily recommend this one if you want a light RPG experience. Also the DLC is really good.
The game has built-in cheats for casual babies and allows you to change the difficulty whenever you wish. No achievements for playing on the harder difficulty. The game is slow as hell. The story is extremely bland and childish. This game is made for children.
