About

Promising the Sabotage touch in every system, Sea of Stars aims to modernize the classic RPG in terms of turn-based combat, storytelling, exploration and interactions with the environment, while still offering a hearty slice of nostalgia and good old, simple fun.
Pressing the action button in sync with the animations increases damage output while reducing incoming damage. Along with timed hits, combat features multi-character combo attacks, boosting, and a strategic "locks" system offering options to play with different damage types in order to hinder enemies while they are channeling powerful attacks or spells, all in an immersive take on the genre; no random encounters, no transitions to separate battlefields, and no grinding.
Swim, climb, vault, jump off or hoist up ledges as you traverse seamlessly through the world with a navigation system based on platformer expertise that breaks free from the classic bound-to-the-grid tileset movement.
Our custom-made render pipeline allows the creation of a breathtaking world coming to life by pushing the limits of 2D pixel-art games.
Dozens of original characters and story arcs will take you on a captivating journey. Sometimes epic, sometimes silly, and other times emotional, Sea of Stars does its RPG duty of exploring classic themes of adventure and friendship, while also being chock-full of the unexpected twists and events you’d expect from a Sabotage production.
There are many ways to hang out in the world of Sea of Stars if you feel the need for a change of pace in your adventures. Sailing, cooking, fishing, stopping by a tavern to listen to a song or play the infamous tabletop game known as "Wheels".....every system has been designed to deliver an experience that pays respect to retro classics, while rethinking in some areas to offer a smooth and modernized experience.
Sea of Stars’ adventure is playable in its entirety by up to three players. Allies can drop in and out anytime to traverse the world together and master the Co-op Timed Hits combat mechanic. Also available via Steam Remote Play Together.

such a lovely game 10/10 i love sabotage so much, they always blow ma mind
Lots of puzzles and trails to follow

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

i found the story a bit boring but i must say, Garl was a well written character and should have been the main focus/character
The art, the combat, THE ART. The perfect amount of pixels and sounds and I just love all of it.
I don't write many reviews, but this game earned one. My biggest regret isn't buying Sea of Stars. It's finding it so late. This is one of those rare games that reminded me why I fell in love with RPGs in the first place. The world is beautiful without feeling empty, the combat stays engaging, the music is incredible, and every new area made me want to keep going "just a little longer." Before I knew it, hours had disappeared. But the real heart of this game is the characters. Mild spoilers but also neccecary statement below fair warning. I don't think I've ever wanted to have a video game character as a real friend more than Garl. He's not the chosen hero. He's not the legendary warrior with magical powers. He's just a guy with an unstoppable spirit, a frying pan, and enough heart to inspire everyone around him. Somehow the warrior cook became one of my favorite characters in gaming. He made me laugh, made me care, and reminded me that kindness can be just as heroic as strength. If you're reading reviews because you're unsure whether to buy this game, let me save you some time. Play it. Go in as blind as you can. Let yourself get attached to these characters. Laugh with them, celebrate with them, and let the adventure surprise you. I genuinely wish I could experience Sea of Stars for the first time all over again. Some games entertain you. A few stay with you. Sea of Stars is one of the ones I'll remember.
