About
GAME LENGTH ESTIMATION :
Around 9-12 hours to complete the story, more to find all collectables.

Amidst a heist gone wrong, Mittens — the world's greatest (and most literal) cat burglar — finds herself caught in a quantum experiment, and gains incredible powers.

With the help of her friends and some new quantum tricks up her sleeve, Mittens must puzzle her way through the secretive research facility, uncover the truth, and make it home before breakfast.

The game is based around a central quantum mechanic — at the press of a button Mittens can split into two cats, who can each be controlled to solve puzzles and cause trouble.

The quantum superstate obeys Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle - when nobody is looking, Mittens could be in either location. If she’s observed however, things get theoretical…
🚪 Pass through doors (that could theoretically have opened).
🚓 Avoid security detection (you can’t see what doesn’t exist).
🧵 Quantum mechanics plus cats. No strings attached!

Take a break from theoretical physics with some experimental fashion. Join the catwalk with plenty of strangely charming customisation options to unlock - each applicable to either quantum position.

Use your powers to access the inaccessible, evade the inevitable, and heist the unheistable to become Schrodinger's Cat Burglar!

A host of cat-splitting puzzles, sending items and energy across theoretical spacetime and back again in time for breakfast!
Play dress-up and choose custom hats, cat breeds, accessories and of course - level of cat chonkiness.
Have a friend join at any time in drop-in/out local coop, also compatible with Steam Remote Play Together.
What is this shady facility researching? What are the pest-control robots protecting? And who is this mysterious Shadow Cat…?
Hidden areas, sneaky mouse-bots and tricky quantum shards for the more advanced puzzle fans out there – or if you just want to knock coffee off desks, you can do that too…
up, down, top, bottom, strange, charm

Schrödinger's Catburglar: A Feline Nostos in Corporate Liminal Space Schrödinger's Catburglar is a paradigm-shifting narrative game that transplants the Homeric nostos tradition to a world of corporate espionage in a quantum physics research lab. What emerges is a postmodern homecoming. The pervasive atmosphere of eternal night (where are the staff!?) creating an unsettling liminal environment reinforcing questions about the nature of reality and bureaucratic absurdity. Particularly noteworthy is the AI antagonist, whose friendly/adversarial dynamic compliments themes such as Schrödinger's thought experiment and Jung's concept of duality of cat. The author concludes that Schrödinger's Catburglar represents not merely entertainment but a vehicle for genuine philosophical inquiry concerning identity and homecoming in late-stage capitalism. Its mechanical density achieves quantum superposition yet maintains coherence. A five-star contribution to the canon. TLDR: Although the mechanics are distinct, if you like portal and like cats, this game is for you!
It's short but a really well done puzzle game. We didn't go back through to unlock everything since that's just not interesting to us but you don't need to do it to enjoy the game. The only thing I wish for is more customizations, especially fur colors and maybe something to wear on your back since your collar is hard to see, especially with the thicker fur option.
I've never written a review before, but I thought I'd start here since I really liked the game and wanted to help the devs out. I saw a trailer for this game on YouTube and I was immediately interested, since this seemed like the type of puzzle game I like. And I have to say, it lived up to my expectations. The puzzles were fun and made me think in new ways, and the game felt well-paced. I was surprised at how polished it was too, given that it was made by a small indie studio. The game's world is quite open and there's secrets pretty much everywhere, the story is engaging (I really liked how it has you gradually uncover what's going on via collectible documents), and the music is really good. The only point where I really stopped having fun was when I had finished the game and found most of the secrets - and it's heavily implied that there's more to come. The game isn't perfect (no game is), but overall, this is amazing work from Abandoned Sheep. It's definitely worth $20 (if you are the kind of person who can wrap your head around quantum cats in two places at once and all that). I'm really excited to see what comes next. I'd love to say more, but writing is hard and the review is getting long already. TLDR: Great game - check it out if it seems up your alley.
Absolutely loved this game. Was worth every second!! Abandoned sheep, you have done incredible and I cannot wait for more from you guys! You should be so proud of yourself.
So let me begin by saying i have ALWAYS hated puzzle games. I LOVE THIS PUZZLE GAME!!! it actually keeps me engaged!!! 10 / 10 for me as nothing HAS EVER for a puzzle game kept me engaged!! Great Game glad to support this game!
i love puzzles games, I enjoy outside the box thinking gameplay and this scratches that itch perfectly
At first I thought, “Aw, cute puzzle cat game! I’ll get maybe four hours from this.” So I did. And then there was more… and when I thought it would end there was more. And I found myself not wanting it to end. The storytelling is interpretive until those final moments and had me guessing what exactly happened here. Most puzzle games are not difficult to me, but this one definitely had a few where I really had to sit back and think about it logically. There were plenty of extra puzzles if you weren’t just focused on progression. The story had me emotionally attached in a game where I didn’t expect there to be much of a story at all. The music, puzzles, and unique gameplay mechanics are just what I look for in a game (plus cute cats and bonus customization). I’ve been following its development for years and I am not disappointed. 10/10 and looking forward to the sequel.
I had to return this because we couldn't even get it connected with the correct controller settings or, at one point, even connected together. Also, I dislike co-op games that make you play alone for a while before playing with friends, even with the skip, the other player cant join in right away. If co-op is changed so its not a frustrating experience we'll give this game another shot because we were looking forward to this one.
