About
Tower Networking Inc is a blend of simulation and economic-strategy with rogue-like elements. Physically connect your clients to your networks by patching cables into switches, routers and data risers. Run an internet service provider in a tower that keeps building random floors. Each new floor comes with unique residences and/or offices that naturally has a variety of different needs.
As the network operator, you are tasked to provide connectivity and various IT related services to the residents in the tower on a limited budget. Your board of directors have a strict policy where you must never go over-budget or face termination from your role. Additionally, some of your clients have service level agreements (SLA) and you must ensure their internet connection (and the services they need) stays up. If any of them files a complaint, then its game-over!.
Your goal is to ensure your internet service provider runs as long as possible.

Add a new client to the network They can't connect. Maybe the firewall is wrong. Redo the firewall. They still can't connect. Maybe the routing table is wrong. Fix the routing table. They still can't connect. Go down stairs to see if the DNS is on fire again. Realize you never plugged them into the patch board in the first place. 10/10 just like real life.
There will be a day where this game will be seen as a true entry-way to getting to know about network technology. I wouldn't be surprised if Cisco/Palo Alto/Juniper tries to buy this thing. Hey, as a network tech. Never do that bro. Amazing and in demand hacking/tech/simulation game, with a network/datacenter bent. If you've ever done this sort of work before, you will be right at home. You will sit infront of this terminal and think "Why the ♥♥♥♥ is this not working?!", and you will figure it out; and you will run into another situation just like that. Welcome to networking. If you enjoy this sort of stuff, one; go buy this game; and two go get a CCNA!
can't afford the ccna study course so i'm counting on our good friend jeremy, his IT lab, and this game to teach me networking if your whole future isn't hinging on how good you are at this game it's pretty fun
the reason why you didn't have internet last night was because I ordered a really long switch, one that knocked over my stray stack of boxes that then pulled all the cables out of the wall. oh, and I didn't remember which one went where because I made them all the same color :(
Well, having an IT background and working in a fairly busy part of the industry, this game is a genuine breath of fresh air! From having to sit down and work out your routes, to ensuring that devices haven't blown themselves up, its genuinely refreshing to have a game that doesn't feel like it scripted and flows naturally! I've only put a handful of hours into TNI at the moment, but its one that I do keep finding myself going back to, even just to tinker in the lab!
Chunky update every 1-2 months, and the developer seems to address issues negative reviews raise pretty consistently. Don't expect full realism though. It's somewhat simpler and has some arcadey elements to it. Still, it definitely earned my recommendation. Looking forward to see how it develops!

it has potential to be a very good IT game, BUT got pretty boring (actually really boring) after 33 hours. It starts becoming a struggle and chore very quick. poor reward to work ratio with this one. It is all over the place and has weird mechanics added for difficulty for difficulty sake that just does not make sense. Like putting SFTP, a free, open source tool that has existed for decades behind a RNG event that also costs money. And after showing it in the tutorial as the needed tool to remove malware. Why is it not a default tool? It makes no sense. Like having to pay to download an app to buy shelves. what? why? Difficulty for difficulty sake. Or having to buy a usb drive to factory reset a firewall because for reasons, the firewall you bought did not come with one? Never heard of a reset button I guess. And there is a lot of things in this game that are simply baloney when it comes to IT. "An internet service provider simulation game." no....this is not a 'simulation', don't be fooled, it is anything but. It tries to use concepts and drop IT terms without understanding. This is a game . it will not satisfy that IT itch for those looking for a good IT simulation. You may actually be annoyed. and all that cable but no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ zip ties and staples so every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wire is laying around. ok, stopping here because just thinking about it all is already annoying me and I'm starting to recall the device collision physics and I'm going to blow a gasket just talking about that one. Thank your deity that one is an option.
Very surprising game, I don't remember my CCNA class being this fun!
