About

The unique, twisted setting serves as a backdrop to the tale of Ezechiel - a fresh recruit to the Sin Collector Corps, haunted by remorse and guilt as he embarks on one of his most essential missions yet. Explore the unforgiving world in which death is not the end but merely another beginning.
Explore and learn the rules governing the world of the biblical Apocalypse, which is filled with agony, suffering, struggle, and a glimmer of hope and humanity in the least expected places.

Dive into battles that blend old-school arena fighter intensity with modern third-person action mechanics fueled by the chaos of the biblical end times.
Wield sacred melee weapons, unholy ranged gear, and the divine power of "Purple" to craft a combat style worthy of a Sin Collector in the apocalypse.

Wield the Purple Powers, a divine force that allows passive enhancements to boost your survivability and active abilities to alter time, perception, or devastate foes.

Battle against various foes with distinct appearances, movement styles, and weaknesses.
Encounter Sinners and Debtors, mortals marked for divine judgment, and outwit or overpower Proselytes - fanatical minions of Them at The Top.

The idea of Kosherness assumes that all items and beings belong to one of two categories: Kosher (acceptable for Them at The Top) or unkosher (unacceptable).

Death in Sancticide is never a simple punishment. It allows the player to better understand the persistent world's rules and adjust their approach with each run.

I tried this game when it first launched with great enthusiasm. I loved the idea and graphics and was very excited to give it a try. I became disappointed bc it didn't seem to know what it wanted to be. The maps were terrible, the narration was terrible with AI voices, and the game didn't make much sense as there are enemies you fight and your fellow brethren and NPC quest givers seem like enemies too. You could have a sword weapon ar a machine gun and you see a lot of the same enemies over and over. Sometimes on a map you would have to run forever to get somewhere for no reason, and other times the map is a congested mess, almost puzzle like, for you to advance. So I thought I'll give it some time for it to get patched and polished and come back to it. I came back to it today, all of my progress was gone, and I had to start over. NOPE. I want to see what is next not start over and realize the same things all over again. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Looks like a good idea that had too many people and or obstacles that made it a cluster-fudge mess.
Z plusów to tyle. Albo autorzy chcieli, żebym grindował dodatkowe lokacje do walki?
Dialogi strasznie drętwe i nieciekawe. Gra wymaga całkowitego przemodelowania i zmian w każdym jej aspekcie. Fabuła powinna być trochę żywsza i ciekawsza, by zachęcić do eksploracji.
Its a decent game. Kind of reminds me of a PS3 or PS4 game. Its not boring at all and actually kind of getting in to it. Voice acting isn't great and enough that I could see it throw some people off, but I really could care less about that. I wish games that have bad voice would just take the voice out and do text only. I play many games with no voice that our pretty good. Either way, average and decent game.

The gameplay is… well, gameplay — nothing revolutionary, but it gets the job done without being frustrating. It’s easy to pick up, has a manageable grind, and doesn’t overstay its welcome thanks to its shorter length. Minor bugs exist, but nothing that ruins the experience. Worth the price, especially if you just want a chill, straightforward game without sweating your life away.
Dear reader, welcome to another review that you always look forward to reading. I'll start by telling you that every game begins with ambition. And you can feel that in Sancticide, as if someone looked at a wall full of notes, Bible quotes, and concept art and thought: yes, this could work. And honestly? It could. On paper, Sancticide, even though it's in early access, is full of rich, dramatic material, a world torn apart by an Apocalypse straight out of the Book of Revelation, a tormented protagonist named Ezechiel, and a mission to wipe out corruption in the name of a divine purpose. Heavy stuff. With potential. If it were in the right hands. The idea of playing as a broken man crawling through fire and ash, fighting both literal and metaphorical demons? It's not bad. It's bold. It's dark. It feels like it wants to echo the moral weight of Dark Souls. But the problem isn't the concept, it's everything that follows. If the combat is fun, you forgive a lot. Bad story? You can say okay (not so much in my case, of course). Weird menu? Fine. But Sancticide fails at the one thing it shouldn't fail at, the feel of the combat. And not in the sense that it needs improvement, but more in the sense that sometimes it actively works against you. Things go wrong from your very first attack. There is a stiffness, as if Ezechiel is fighting underwater or with a hangover headache. The hits have no weight, the sense of impact is almost non-existent. It's like hitting shadows with foam rubber. It's not satisfying, it's confusing. Sometimes the enemy reacts, sometimes they don't. The gunplay is even worse. The crosshair is unstable, the aiming seems sloppy, there is no recoil, and if you fight from a distance, get ready to lose. All the time. And all this while the enemies are beating you up. Which means you die because the aiming decided not to cooperate. The enemies' AI doesn't help. On their own, the enemies are easy. Their movements are slow and predictable. But in groups, due to the broken camera and awkward controls, even a simple battle becomes hell. Not in a good way. Sancticide really wants to be Soulslike. You can see its influence in the stamina, dodge, and heavy hits. But where Souls has precision, Sancticide has clumsiness. You don't learn to fight better. You learn to struggle with the game's poor mechanics. RPGs have a basic mechanic: the more you play, the stronger your character becomes. They learn, evolve, and become more capable. In Sancticide, however, leveling up is like a joke. Ezechiel gains XP by killing enemies. Classic. But when you level up, sometimes there is no notification. No animation, no sound, not even a small "Level Up!" somewhere on the screen. You only find out if you go into the menu and notice that the number on your level and skill points has changed. In addition, there is a skill tree, but it is so empty and shallow that it doesn't make sense to look at it often. It's as if the game added a leveling system just to say it's an RPG. All this creates a serious problem, you don't feel like you're progressing. You play for hours, you kill, you move on, and Ezechiel remains the same. You don't feel like he's running faster, he can't take more. He's the same dull and confused creature as when you started. And without progress, motivation is lost. You don't chase better builds, you don't adapt your play style. You just keep going because... you have no other choice. And that's perhaps the most disappointing part, an RPG without real progression is like a puzzle with no solution. Even if you wanted to engage with the lore or atmosphere, the fact that the gameplay offers no reward keeps you permanently stuck in a state of stagnation. There are no "wow" moments. There is no "ah, now I'm ready for this boss." There's just meaningless leveling. Okay, let's give credit where credit is due, Sancticide has some really nice enemy designs. Or at least the idea behind them. The bestiary, i.e. the list of non-human creatures in the game, has something special about it. We're not just talking about horror designs with spikes and blood, but entities with lore. Each creature has a little story to tell. Where it came from, what it represents, how it fits into the world. At least someone on the team cared enough to design a strange and disturbing world. And visually? They're not bad. There's a surprising amount of variety. All of this, when you see it for the first time, creates a sense of awe. Maybe even fear. It's the only moment when the game shows character. The voice acting in Sancticide is... let's put it politely, strange. You know when you play a game and feel that the voices add depth to the characters? Well, not here. Here, you feel that something went very wrong. For starters, Ezechiel has two different voices. Yes, you read that right. One for the cutscenes and one for the gameplay. And they don't just sound different, they sound like two completely different people. The first is more serious, heavy, almost theatrical. The second is flatter, as if the actor doesn't even care. The impression it gives is that the voice acting was probably done with the help of artificial intelligence or at least by people who had no idea what they were doing. The dialogues sound monotonous, empty, and are often delivered with the wrong tone or emotion. It's like listening to a recording of a robot trying to talk like a human but failing. And at moments when the story should shine, the voice acting just distracts you. In a game that is in early access, you expect to see some bugs, so i started with the first tutorial mission. I fought some Crookeds, the simple enemies, supposedly to learn the basics of gameplay. I killed them all and nothing happened. The door in front of me remains locked. No mission update. No trigger. I just stood there, stuck, staring at a door that will never open. The only solution? I started a new save. Seriously. If you do a fresh run, it works. If not, you're stuck in the tutorial. And that bug just killed my confidence in the first 10 minutes of my experience with it. In addition, another bug that struck me is with the collectibles. Items that you trade to improve your gear. When you double-click on one, it disappears. Yes, you heard right. Not from the inventory, nor does it appear anywhere else, it just disappears. In fact, it goes to a 'hidden' menu that you can't find. No indication. And when you double-click on another one? The previous one reappears and the new one disappears. I'm speechless. Now that we've reached the end, what's left to say about Sancticide? You know, there are games that start out with flaws but improve with patches and patience. This isn't one of them. Sancticide doesn't seem like a game that just needs fixing. It seems like one that needs to be rebuilt from scratch. The basic idea makes sense, but the way the game was made seems rushed, unpolished, and without any real quality control. The gameplay is clumsy, the combat system is disappointing, the leveling is pointless, and the lore is lost in a messy narrative. The technical state is so poor that you often feel like you're playing an incomplete demo rather than a finished product. You can't help but feel sorry for how promising Sancticide could have been. There is a story to be told, characters that could move you, monsters that could scare you. But all of that is buried under a pile of problems that stifle the experience. At this point, the best you can do is hope that the creators will see what went wrong and work on a completely new version. If not, Sancticide will remain an example of how talent and good ideas are not enough without proper implementation. Maybe one day we'll see Ezechiel fight as he deserves. Until then, Sancticide will remain a missed opportunity. I would like to thank Gamelab for providing me the game so i can present it to you. Rating: 4/10
