Main gameplay loop is relaxing and fun, but there's too little in this game to be worth the price tag. Only about 1 hour of gameplay and a few simple maps to drive your little robot around. He's cute, his animations are nice, but there's just not enough there for a full game. This feels much more like a demo than a $6 game.
I absolutely LOVED S.A.N.D.Y.! The mini spooks, the background atmosphere, the satisfying cleaning, THE OLD MUSIC! I crave more!!! I want lore, more bits of horror! What happened to the world? Where is everyone?! Where did we come from?! AAAAA I'M IN LOVE! Sure the game is short to play, but it is absolutely worth it! If you're on the fence I highly recommend playing it!

Kinda hard to recommend. The game is extremely short. 100% it in about 2.6 hours (of which for at least an hour I left to do some other things irl). I'd say, for the low price it's not too bad, but it is a little disappointing. It feels like I didn't get much more than the demo already had.
I loved it. Too short? Yes. Worth the money? Also yes.
I watched WALL-E 8 times uninteruppted as a kid. So like yeah i will play this game throughout the years whenever i feel like consuming some similar media. If anyone wants to talk about WALL-E with me, just hmu.
Cute, short game. For the brief time you get to play it, it finds it's way into a little nook of your brain to place the memory and feeling of trying to make something better. even if the world around you doesn't see it, and continues getting worse, at least you're trying!
Finally… “Autism - The Game”
The truth is that it is extremely unlikely you even need a review for this game. If you see it and the very next second your brain goes “Br-rrr” then congratulations - we have quite a bit in common. Oh, that and also just go and buy it right now, you won’t regret it. Cleaning games are always a pleasure, especially if it’s not just yet another Unity/Unreal asset-flip shovelware. And this one here is very much not. Sure, it utilizes the good ol’ “low poly PS1 kinda visuals” trick which might become an issue for some, but personally i’m having it good and ready for more. Gameplay? You clean a beach. It’s called “Beach Cleaner”. Just a tiny little robot roaming around, filtering sand through its body, occasionally helping animals that got into troubles. You do just clean a beach. Section by section. There’s not a lot to entertain you in a traditional way, but it doesn’t mean that S.A.N.D.Y. is not an enjoyable experience. If me and you do have a thing or two in common, then you know that sometimes nothing beats some meditative mindless routine work. And i mean “mindless” in the best kind of sense. It’s a great way to switch your brain off and just focus on this single, obvious, physical task right in front of you. Seeing the beach getting cleaner, line by line, lap by lap is something that i didn’t know i need right now - and boy, did i need it. Of course, one simply has to bring variety to thy game. In this case, it is mostly present in the shape of small events. A short cutscene with your bot, a cute animal moment, a grotesque creature running around and even something as ominous as getting a new hat. Brr, gives you chills, right? All of that helps to contextualize the gameplay and makes the world of S.A.N.D.Y. feel a much more lively place than it actually is. The whole game takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting, which suddenly flips things up. Your typical cleaning game still possesses this relaxing tone, yet here it adds an almost somber tint to the aura. The cozy horror elements, if you will. A specific kind of feeling, when you know you are totally alone here. But just for now, it’s a good thing to have. Though, i should mention that the controller support is far from perfect here, despite the fact that this is the kind of game that practically begs to lean back in your chair and make yourself comfy. For reasons unknown even to me, i wasn’t much frustrated having to occasionally swap to mouse and keyboard to sort the trash via the machine, but i fully recognize the fact that not having a gamepad support for a good third of your game is quite an inconvenience. But really, that is all the bad i have to say. Sometimes cute, sometimes spooky and always charming - S.A.N.D.Y. - Beach Cleaner is a great gimmick-title for one of those quiet evenings. I have completed the whole thing in just 70 minutes and i don’t regret a single second i gave.

P.s. Don’t you freaking DARE to refund the game after beating it. If you will do such crime, then Gabe himself will track you down and send you to the bottomless live-service pits of hell ruled by Epic Games and Ubisoft. You have received my warning.

More Neon Darkness here!
- More reviews: https://steamcommunity.com/id/Neon_Darkness/recommended/ - My Steam group: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/neon_darkness - Curator page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45960220/ Thanks for your time! <3
S.A.N.D.Y is a post-apocalyptic WALL-E cleaner, where she does her best to restore the beach back to its glory. While it is kind of cozy it's also atmospherically and environmentally dark. 10/10 depressing dystopian cigarette butts.
if it were 0.99 i would recommend it. beat it in under a half hour, not worth 6 bucks
