Duncan W. Adams was an avid safe collector and an 'eccentric,' to say the least. Adams has hidden the deed to his vast fortunes in one of 35 safes. You must crack them all using hints scattered throughout his extravagant mansion.

It's not a bad game, you'll probably have a decent time if you like challenging/no-hand-holding types of puzzles. But imo not really worth the hassle of getting it to run on modern hardware. I got my copy working with dgVooDoo2 but even still had issues with sound and animations throughout. For something similar from the same era, I'd recommend looking at the Myst series, or for a modern alternative, try "Blue Prince"!
I remember this game fondly from when I last played it many years ago, but trying it now I cannot get it to work properly. Text and vital parts of the interface are missing or flickering in and out, the cursor is entirely invisible and the voice audio is gone. Virtually unplayable on modern systems, it seems, which is sad to see. I did try with compatibility mode for older operating systems, but to no avail. On this basis I cannot recommend the game anymore.
At this point, operating systems have surpassed the ability to properly support this game. Graphic issues require that you make modifications to your Windows before the game will be able to run properly, so if you insist on buying it, head first to the discussion boards and learn what to download to patch the problem.
i have the no text in the menu error, i can guess my way around, but it seems this game should not ask for money and be removed due to completely not functioning.
Not recommended. 1. No clues what to do, no help, it makes you go to YouTube and watch for walkthrough 1 minute after game is launched. Not good onboarding. 2. 16 FPS jaggy-crappy animated movement with 5070ti card. Something is definitely wrong with the implementation of this game.
This is a first person puzzle game. Safecracker: The Ultimate Puzzle Adventure is actually a pseudo sequel of a better regarded game, called just Safecracker. The plot is that you are hired by a family of a rich man who recently died to open all the safes inside his mansion. The game features a total of 35 safes/locked puzzles. There's no tutorials nor guiding, you just explore the couple of unlocked initial rooms to fiddle with the few safes or mechanisms that are available. This is a linear game, with typical inventory from adventure games that will allow you to open locked doors and get access to more rooms and floors in the mansion. Most puzzles are fair with the game lasting a couple of hours. There's just one specific puzzle near the start that takes a ton of time to solve, it's one of those jigsaws where you rotate 4 pieces of the puzzle clockwise at the same time. Even knowing the exact solution, is still a chore to solve. The plot ends up being just an excuse for the setting and puzzles, you will get some development on the relatives that are looking for the final reward as well, but it's completely optional and to add a bit of flavor. There's also a map mechanic to easily check your progress. It's a cool game while it lasts, some of the challenges are typical stock puzzles, while others are creative enough to be worth of a run. Mind that this is one of those mid 2000s games that tend to have problems with certain newer hardware. I found no such issues, but your mileage may vary.
I'm running this game on a Win 10 machine, with compability mode set to Win 7 and High DPI scaling override and it works great. The problem is, I just don't enjoy this game. The camera angle and the partial fish eye view effect when you move the camera is nauseating. The low resolution and grainy graphics kill all the enjoument while solving the puzzles. My rating 4/10, not recommended.
