Royal Bounty HD

It may be that this game is too successful at what it is trying to do. I am confident I am the target audience of this game. I played King's Bounty (the original game this one is clearly an homage/spiritual successor to) for hours upon hours. I loved it, and consider it one of my favorite games from childhood. Royal Bounty HD is most certainly an accurate representation of that game, and I fear that is the problem. I loved King's Bounty. Then I played other games, newer games, that iterated new and different ideas in gaming. I grew to like and appreciate them, eventually even expecting the improved quality-of-life aspects of those games. I have, functionally, moved on from King's Bounty; much in the same way you move on from a teen relationship. It's great, it's fun, the memories are awesome, but you don't really want to go back to it. And when you try, you realize it isn't even what you are looking for anymore. Kudos to iosoftware for making this game. But you, the reader, probably won't like it. If you do, awesome. I hope there is lots of heavy petting and you get to 2nd base. But more than likely, the experience will feel a bit silly, overly simple, and you'll get bored of it pretty quick. Maybe even both.

It's kings bounty that was for the sega genisis and this is a great version of that game. The nestalgia is fantastic and well worth it.

Needs polish but great game if you played HoMM2 as a child.

The game is complex and boring with a primitive and monotonous combat system.

Fun little game reminds me of Warlords back in the day. Do New Save a lot! if you want to get all the quests done. The thing I did not like about this game was that it took away my army on the last level. I think they should let you try to win with the army you worked hard to putting together. Hint: Dragons can hit two targets if one is behind the other.
