About

█ ROUTINE is a First Person Sci-Fi Horror title set on an abandoned lunar base designed around an 80s vision of the future.
Curious exploration turns into a need for survival when a lunar base goes completely quiet. Searching for answers puts you face to face with an enemy who is certain the main threat is you. Discoveries lead to deeper unknowns and the only way to go is forward. ▌
Note: ROUTINE offers no waypoint markers, finding your way is part of the experience. Slow down, observe your surroundings, explore carefully, and review data to uncover the path forward.
█ EXPLORE: Roam through contrasting sectors of the lunar base, from deteriorating living quarters and tram stations to an abandoned mall. ▌
█ OBSERVE: Investigate your surroundings and uncover crucial information to progress and piece together the events that unfolded before your arrival. ▌
█ IMMERSE: Full body awareness, diegetic audio, and minimal UI help create a gripping and atmospheric experience. ▌
█ OPERATE: Your Cosmonaut Assistance Tool (C.A.T.) is vital. Use it to access critical terminals, navigate the environment and identify clues. ▌
█ SURVIVE: Run, hide, or attempt to defend yourself against unknown threats using the C.A.T. as a last resort. ▌

Such a good story, loved it.
Very scary, it made me buy two new sets of underwear.
I adore the diegetic approach to every element of this game. Gorgeous both visually and by design.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is an amazing game. Haven't had this much fun playing anything since Control years ago.
Great eerie game
Great atmosphere. Tutorial was so lacking that I had to look up several times how to get through the first few early sections. It wants you to explore and search for clues until the monster arrives with a) no explanation b) no sense of where to go (lots of dead ends). Super frustrating for such a promising start. Do not use controller. fast movements are needed plus meticulous/timely interactions on in-game screens are needed.
If I really think about it, this is the scariest horror game I have ever played. Most of the time, the enemies made me physically jump when I would encounter them, and their sound design is excellent. Actually, the entire game's sound design is excellent, as is the art style (in my opinion). A lot of people say it reminds them of Alien: Isolation, and I have to agree. The CAT is also a cool concept, I like having a multitool that expands in functionality as the game goes on. I also appreciated the aspect of pushing physical buttons on it, instead of using key binds like every other game out there. The puzzles were also pretty neat, even the one that was a little drawn out (iykyk). They make you think and pay attention to the environment, something I rarely have to do for other games. There were many times in which I actually passed up what I thought could have been the answer, as I am used to games that are not super detailed. It left me pleasantly surprised many times over. Gamerscore: 80% SPOILERS: [spoiler] Admittedly, the story kind of falls flat towards the end. When the credits rolled, I felt a little confused and slightly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed what was in the game, but I wanted a more weighty and conclusive ending to the narrative that was being set up. Many things are left ambiguous, seemingly on purpose. [spoiler] [spoiler] For example, the Entities and "plants" that were discovered in The Canal. How did they stay alive down there? What's the deal with the fungal infection and the "visions" that seem to affect everyone on the base? How did Prism even discover The Canal in the first place? Many questions are asked, and few are directly answered. [spoiler] [spoiler] Also, the sudden jump from Union Plaza to The Ward was kind of jarring, as is the introduction of Prism. I think it is implied that the people at Union Plaza did not know about Prism or the Entities, since it seemed to take everyone there by surprise. That being said, how did both facilities exist so close to one another for almost 25 years without any overlap? [spoiler] [spoiler] Granted, you can gleam some more answers about the story by being thorough and watching a lore video or two after you complete the game, but I think a good bit of the story could still use some more context. The brief bit set in 2025 would have been a great time to lay it all out in a document for us to read and understand, but they redact a ton of stuff and leave us with a single picture and a vague idea that the landing party was killed. [spoiler] [spoiler] I realize exposition of that kind is hard to deliver in a way that doesn't feel contrived, but the game ends up feeling cut off without it. Bottom line, I enjoyed what we were given, but wanted more! If the devs decide to try and expand on this story, I would not be opposed to trying again, preferably in less than a decade. [spoiler]
you can't go fishing! 9/10
