About

█ ROUTINE is a First Person Sci-Fi Horror title set on an abandoned lunar base designed around an 80s vision of the future.
Curious exploration turns into a need for survival when a lunar base goes completely quiet. Searching for answers puts you face to face with an enemy who is certain the main threat is you. Discoveries lead to deeper unknowns and the only way to go is forward. ▌
Note: ROUTINE offers no waypoint markers, finding your way is part of the experience. Slow down, observe your surroundings, explore carefully, and review data to uncover the path forward.
█ EXPLORE: Roam through contrasting sectors of the lunar base, from deteriorating living quarters and tram stations to an abandoned mall. ▌
█ OBSERVE: Investigate your surroundings and uncover crucial information to progress and piece together the events that unfolded before your arrival. ▌
█ IMMERSE: Full body awareness, diegetic audio, and minimal UI help create a gripping and atmospheric experience. ▌
█ OPERATE: Your Cosmonaut Assistance Tool (C.A.T.) is vital. Use it to access critical terminals, navigate the environment and identify clues. ▌
█ SURVIVE: Run, hide, or attempt to defend yourself against unknown threats using the C.A.T. as a last resort. ▌

I really wanted to like this game. I was ready for horror, all I got was frustration. Couldn't explore or soak up the environment properly. Some of the mechanics are really cool and unique, others are just dumb. I wish there were less robots that chase me and more atmosphere. Started chapter 2 and immediately got lost after yet another chase sequence - ok, maybe that's a skill issue but still. I won't finish the game, and honestly it's a shame. The decor and sound design are amazing, I really wanted to see more of it, but I'm having zero fun, so meh.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I've played for about one hour, and I hate my experience. The controls are awkward for example what's the point of programming a double crouch with control + space + S. This is so wired that the game start with an annoying confusing tutorial to check if the players understand it. The rest is as terrible, and the tool that sparkles usage is so counter intuitive that there is an OTHER well hidden tutorial that explain how to use it. Developpers : if your game need a tuto for walking and interacting, and if this tuto is mandatory to play this game, this is a RED FLAG about how messed up your gameplay is. Consider making it more simple. So the main gameplay functionality is walking in long corridors where nothing happens, and a part as simple as this one is a mess. Your character can walk but the corridors are too long and the walk to slow, so you want to run 100% of the time. Good news you can run. Bad news : you need to keep the finger on the shift key all the time which makes it painfull AND there is an anoying zoom animation every time you start running that will make you sick. Devs, if the player always need to run, just increase the walking speed or make the corridors shorter, or make the run the default and press shift for walking. The second gameplay functionality of this game is retro menus printed on 3D surfaces. It's just basically text that's painfull to navigate and hard to read. Seriously, if you want do a text-based game, write a visual novel, there are plenty of awesome (free) tools that make is pleasant to use. Plus the consoles content is not intresting at all, and can be summarize as : 7"you need a code to open the next door", and you must type the code with a crappy interface. For the story, it's summarized this way : I got no idea who am I, I got no idea what I'm doing here, I only know that I'm on the moon and that I shoud fix some random-thing elsewhere behind a locked door. This is NOT intresting at all. This is even not a story. A story need at least a character and a plot. So in conclusion, you may buy this game, if you think that there will be better content latter on, and if you're well motivated to spend money for a headache and a bet. Or you can spend time on the other well made horror games that exists. There are tons of them. Ohh and extra crap, the game doesn't properly quit on exit.... when closed, it still run in background, consuming ressources, and accumulating play time for steam.
One of the most unintuitive games ever made and I played original monkey island back in a days and I love the system shock and alien isolation. Graphics are ok but the fish eye effect is nauseating. You can switch it off via mods which is especially a must do for VR. It’s not alien isolation as there’s no map nor anything helping you in a maze also enemies are pretty dumb. Switching modules is a bit annoying, using a flashlight is a pain which is particularly annoying given how dark this game is and why am I not able to shoot while crouching? You can have flashlight but only if you aim so no running when it’s actually needed. The biggest puzzle requires the mechanic that the game is teaching you NOT to use for the whole duration of several hours prior. It’s dumb, the whole experience is just a massive pain. I don’t like the hand holding one bit but this is the complete opposite end of a spectrum with very little environmental clues of what to do and how to progress next. It’s a half baked product by the team that have no experience in delivering a smooth gameplay. If I could give it a neutral I would but it’s hard to recommend it in the current state. And you know what were the coolest moments in AI and SS? That you could see and feel the space. Here you are on the moon but see it just at the beginning through 2 windows and after that you might as well be at the bottom of the ocean or underground because nobody can tell otherwise. I can see the idea but execution of this game is pretty poor.
