I like it a lot so far, the contract mechanics and negotiating with suppliers or customers is a lot more realistic and fun then just selling goods on some miracle market. There's certainly mechanics that could be expanded a lot and some QoL features that should be implemented. For example I would suggest expanding on the worker satisfaction metrics and allowing some adjustment in production rates of a facility (perhaps at the cost of efficiency when deviating from the ideal 100%?). Also the game seems to be very poorly optimized and doesn't run nearly as well as expected of something with this level of graphics and simulation. All in all I still think it's a great game, though 35€ seems a bit overpriced and I would find 25€ more appropriate.
The first game was a masterpiece. They could have just updated the graphics for the second game and released it and it would have been great. However, they changed the gameplay mechanics and the loop is just not fun.
Greed, Greed is Good! (And so is this game)
This game is not with out issues, but is very fun once you understand it. I've played it for a while and will stop for a few months and always come back. I have not found another game that scratches the itch, I have tried other management sims, TF2 & CS2, they are different in their own way.
I originally didn't buy this game on release after I saw the reviews, however I am glad i gave it a try. The game is good, but it does require a different mindset from Rise of Industry 1. The contract system adds a different challenge in a genre that often allows the player to endlessly grow without any pushback. Instead on this game, you can lose a profitable contract, or a buying contract that you rely on, forcing you to rethink how you build your factories with long term planning in mind, you cant just endlessly spam the same mindless thing like in many other games. The game definetly focuses more on the factory layout and resource management rather than logistics, which is fine in my opinion. Too many factory tycoon games devolve into transport tycoon with extra steps. I didn't encounter any performance issues myself, so I can't speak on that end. Visually the game has a nice style andn flair, with the buildings and UI being reminscent of 80s movies and aesthetic. If I have a criticism is that the game could have some more QOL updates, for example when you setup a contract it tells you how many of a resource will you buy/sell on average per day, but you cant easily see the same average per day info in an active contract. Additionally, there doesnt seem to be a way to check how much are you paying for utilities separately, power and water are always combined. In conclusion, I think if you are used to these kinds of games this is a good spin on the genre that will give you some unique mechanics and challenges.
Contracts killed the game ! It's just disaster
Honestly I had played the first part, kinda liked it and was excited for part 2. Let me say, it lasted 26 minutes to show me the opposite.
