This game feels like a down-grade from the first one. I don't like the graphics. Nor the sounds. And it feels like I'm playing a spread-sheet with art-work more than a game. The first game was more fun and more engaging. This just feels like "click to take a new partner to lunch"-simulator. I find myself mostly waiting for time to pass so I can click something again. And then suddenly someone just says "F U" and cancels their contracts with you for no penalties, leaving you in a situation where you in your turn start failing your contracts, but you have to pay penalties when you do... Then, there is no overview map nor minimap, so navigating around and exploring the region feels very tedious. I don't understand that design decision at all. Game feels unpolished with an unintuitive UI and for me it's a huge disapointment because I really liked the first game. Will try to refund, but might have played too long to try and give it an honest chance.
UI is a huge step down. During the tutorial you cant move the tutorial instruction window which is sometimes in front of things you are supposed to interact with. If things are this broken during the tutorial, I'm out. I bought this because I like Rise of Industry. This is missing what I like about the first game. It never spent too much time talking. This game immediately is full of unimportant dialogue to go along with the uninspired 80s parody theme.

It's an interesting concept of a game and I like it as a tycoon. It does not aim exactly for realism. Is different from first version, and I like this one more. Idea of doing production chains between different industry types and handling products through contracts is an interesting idea and may require some attention. Some concepts could be better explained, like logistics, rails and international trade. Some level of terraforming would be a plus as well.
Hello Im Skill Incarnate and Welcome to My Games Review Series. My reviews cover indie games that i have bought, had gifted to me and have been provided by developers for review. In this episode I am unleashing my inner Business Mogul with Rise Of Industry 2, developed by SomaSim and published by Kasedo Games, who released one of the best Warhammer 40K games, Mechanicus. Rise Of Industry 2 is a city builder game taking place in the 1980s, one of the best periods in history, with the player taking the role of an ambitious business tycoon trying to build their own Corporate Empire. You will choose from a variety of starting industries including Mining, Agriculture and Logging, then building up factories, Warehouses and Processing Plants to produce valuable goods for sale. With time and research you can break into new industries, using your acquired wealth to expand into new territories and producing more complex and profitable products. But keep in mind, you will need to satisfy the needs of your investors in order to ensure continued funding for your operation. Rise Of Industry 2 has more of a focus on business management rather than combat, however dont let this fool you into thinking this game is an easy experience. In order to be successful players will need to be extremely efficient with their funds, carefully building infrastructure to maximise output and minimize expenses, whilst carefully building a network of business contacts to trade commodities and favours Rise Of Industry 2 released to mixed reviews on Steam, with players citing issues with the Construction System, a difficult to Navigate HUD and that the games overall design being less streamlined than the first Rise Of Industry Game. I have encountered many of these issues and whilst they did provide some frustration i did find myself enjoying the game despite them. I hope to check out the original Rise Of Industry so that i can make a proper comparison in the future Please note: All opinions in this video are my own. Much like its predecessor, Rise of Industry 2 presents itself as a lightweight management game, but quickly reveals a deep and engaging core. Graphically, it remains pleasant without pushing boundaries, but it is clearly improved in many areas compared to the first game. The game once again gives a false sense of simplicity. As you dive deeper into its mechanics, the systems become more complex and interconnected, demanding planning and strategic thinking. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to dedicate as many hours to it as it truly deserves, but even with limited time, it’s clear that the experience is far more interesting than it initially appears. The gameplay is simply enjoyable. It feels smoother, more refined, and better balanced than the original. While some criticism from the community may come from expectations tied to improvements over the first game, I believe this sequel delivers exactly what it promises. It feels refreshed, polished, and appropriately evolved rather than radically changed. Overall, Rise of Industry 2 is a strong sequel that respects its foundation while improving on it. The concept remains compelling, the mechanics are engaging, and the experience feels more confident and complete. A solid and well-executed sequel that fans of the first game—and management games in general—will appreciate.
