Reviews
reviewing this is tough because on one hand, i really do like how they change up the mechanics of a rhythm game so it isn't just a guitar hero clone. on the other hand, the mechanics themselves aren't very intuitive and would benefit from more distinct enemy design. sight-reading is basically impossible because you have to memorize the specific traits of the different monsters before even considering attempting harder difficulties. this can make it very annoying for those (like myself) with lots of hours in more traditional rhythm games who are used to a more direct communication of what notes are coming next. i find it a little overwhelming to have to memorize the exact monster type and color while keeping a steady rhythm.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.71/day in the week to Jul 30 → 6/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
they really pulled an evangelion reference at the end
I downloaded the demo a month or so ago and thought Id try it, then i proceded to continusly play ravevange over and over for that month until now when i finally decided i NEEDED the game. 10/10 would recomend
A worse version of Guitar Hero with a focus on obscuring what buttons you need to press instead of rhythm or accuracy.
So, this game is hard to recommend. If you don't know me (which you won't), I adore rhythm games, always have. But this one is just hard to really recommend. When I first started this, I felt overwhelmed by the mechanics, mainly because each monster needs a certain amount of hits, etc. But it is also because I felt like it didn't run amazingly. No matter how many times I adjusted and calibrated the game, something always felt off. Now aside from negatives, here is a positive! The music in this game is very catchy and alongside that, there is the addition of the steam workshop songs, which I adore. I love rhythm games that don't rely heavily on dlc but on their community (for example: osu). And with that I found many songs that I myself love and found some that were fun to play. But the main reason why I feel like I can't recommend this is because it feels too overcrowded and clashy, the mechanics feel off and the calibration doesn't feel right. I have also played the other necrodancer game before and I can say for me I prefer this one a lot more, but that is personal preference. I would say, maybe me disliking this is partially my fault because my brain cannot process the enemies as fast as it wants me to. But if you are into fast based rhythm games with monster based hit system, I would also recommend muse dash and unbeatable, but if you are set on this one, give it a go because everyones preference is different. All in all I would probably rate this a 6.8/10
why dis game so unoptimized 20 fps btw
