Guitar Hero style clone where you import your own music files (no streaming) and tap your way through four colors to the beat of the song. Sort of -- the music detection feels rather lacking compared to the bigger names in procedural music game generation such as Beat Hazard or Audiosurf but still entertaining enough for casual play. Native controller support and remapping to let you find what's most comfortable for you on the controller or keyboard in lieu of a plastic guitar. A decent little game for the price and always happy to see another title in the "Play Your Music" genre pop up. Although actual game play worked fine, there were a few instances of me backing out of a menu to a blank screen that required me to force close the program.
I didn't expect too much from Rhythm Any Music, but I got even less than that. Graphics are nothing special, notes are visible enough and setting up the game is easy. However if you play with VSYNC you will have some kind of lag which is annoying to handle, but even turning that off, playing this game feels weird. I don't know exactly why, but I think there is something wrong with the note detection, because I do the correct inputs but the game still registers it as a mistake. About mistakes, the sound effect when you miss a note is somewhat loud, it would be nice to have a sound slider for it. And probably the most annoying part in the game is the generated tracks: it's pretty random, basically doesn't resemble the music. I know it's difficult to make a good enough method to generate a map for a song, but either work on it more or stay with the fixed songs with fixed tracks, which you or other players could make. Right now I can't recommend the game, there are just better rhythm games around Steam to play, but I hope the dev(s) will still work on it and could fix some of the issues and add more features to it.
by far the best music game on steam! im addicted!
Sometimes, or even quite often, music games tend to be mediocre to downright bad, and Rhythm Any Music is unfortunately extremely bad. It felt like the installation took forever, and then it crashed several times. The notes barely match the songs, even with super simple examples like a basic drum track, making it absolutely no fun. Additionally, certain command keys sometimes stop working, and when I reassign them, the symbols don’t align properly. There's so much unfinished work in here, such a product shouldn’t even be sold. Definitely stay away from it!
I can poop in my hands and clap and the poop splatter would produce better rhythm then this garbage. Also upon installing and opening for the first time it crashed, re-opened and crashed again for no apparent reason. The notes to the music don't make sense it feels completely random and REALLY off beat. The titan implosion had a better beat than this!
I am a believer in rhythm games with potential. And this has potential. I gave it a whirl with 2 songs, one from my playlist and another from a suggestion a friend made. I first don't understand the calibration at all. Is it Audio Offset? Video Offset? And why is it in a scale of -5 to 5? I feel like milliseconds would be better for calibration. The charting is about what you expect. It gives you notes based on the general rhythm so it has a mix of random and on beat at most points, it's kinda weird but interesting to play with. But I do like the visual aspect of the game. Simple and yet, concert like, feels about right for what it is right now. Overall, fun and beginner friendly.
It's definitely a great idea, but i hope there will be some updates later.
It's A Good Game And You Can Really use mp3 Files. And I Hope The Game Team Update It And Improve It More
This game has become a standout in the rhythm game genre. The latest updates have significantly improved BPM detection and note generation accuracy, enhancing the overall gameplay. The reactive visuals are visually captivating, adding depth to the immersion. The game’s stability has seen major improvements, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience each time you play. If you enjoy rhythm games, this one is definitely worth checking out!
Already played a fair amount when it was on Itchio. A very decent Guitar Hero rhythm game. Any game that allows me to use my own music would be highly rated. The visuals are detailed and pleasing to the eye. The algorithm is doing its job well, nothing out of place would come at you. It does feel like long notes could spice the gameplay and give certain parts of the music more feels. Also the combo bar could be better stylized to match the quality visuals. There could be great things for this game in the future.
