About

Play the beats you usually study/relax to! 📚
LOFI Katana is a VR rhythm game with a unique atmosphere inspired by everyone’s favourite late night playlists.
Leave your room and head to the highest rooftop. Find your musical sanctuary away from the city noise. Hit the shurikens with your katana and wave your fan to the rhythm of the music.
After mastering all the songs in the game, generate your own gameplay based on your favourite music. LOFI Katana uses a sophisticated procedural system that analyses the song and creates custom levels matching the rhythm and beat of any track.
Enjoy your music with simple but challenging sequences that blend dance and combat:
In Classic mode, flip your fan to match the incoming ones, and wield a katana in your other hand to slice the flying shurikens coming towards you.
Select your difficulty level, from a calm and relaxing routine to a more challenging and energetic session.
Try out the alternative modes: “Only Fans” and “Only Katanas” for a new take on the Classic gameplay.
LIV integration available for streamers and influencers who like to dance and move along with their favourite music!
The light and the environment around you change procedurally with the music. Feel free to take some time to relax and enjoy the cosy vibes.
Experience the atmosphere around you reacting to your actions and immerse yourself in the flow of your favourite tracks.
To integrate your music, you will simply need to drag your MP3 or WAV files into the /Tracks folder of the game. Our Algorithm itself will take care of creating a deterministic gameplay from the song and generating a level from the parameters you have chosen.
If you are looking for an escape to a relaxing world, this is the perfect game for you!

Wer Beat saber mag, wird hier glücklich danke liebe grüße HundelungeVR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozBgBdwC_30&t 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow Third group
and discover more reviews from me.
Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/OMwyf_97PaQ This is a neutral recommendation. I love the concept of this game. I love the aesthetic. I was really enjoying the musical soundtrack as well. Unfortunately, the gameplay is where this game falls behind other VR music rhythm games. I noticed some input lag / delay, which caused some frustration. I also noticed some bugs. So right off the bat, this isn't Beat Saber. It's a VR music rhythm game that is more focused on Lo-fi beats & sycnhwave music, along with an overall chill atmosphere. It's just a more relaxed gameplay. The visuals look good as well, much better than most VR music rhythm games. You can also play your own custom music. Be warned though: the gameplay doesn't really sync up with the beat of the music all that well. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 fps for the most part. I did notice some input lag though. Also, there were some bugs. The fan was the wrong color for the only fans mode, which threw me off. I also noticed some UI elements were missing, so I had to exit to main menu. Overall, I think with some fixes, this could be a really good VR music rhythm game. It's definitely not competition with Beat Saber though. It's good for what it's going for, as long as the issues I experienced get fixed. It also needs more maps / relaxing places to chill out to. Rate 5/10. Currently, a 5/10 is the highest I can give it. However, I could easily see giving this a much higher score with just some QoL updates.
Please note: I received a free Steam key through the Steam Curator Connect program. I really like this game, I like that you can add your own music too. The cheevs are fun but a grind but that's ok... The only issue I have and others mention... the music doesnt ever start the first time around. I have to go to 3 different songs and eventually it starts working. It's rather annoying of a bug that should be fixed. Mew mew, 7/10.
It's an ok rhythm game when it works but it's pretty light on content so I wouldn't recommend it for more than $10 or so. Wait for a sale. My main issue with it is that sometimes the music doesn't play during levels and I haven't figured out a way to get it to work consistently. Restarting the game sometimes fixes it but not always. As for the gameplay, it uses procedurally generated beatmaps so you aren't going to get quality, handcrafted beatmaps. The built-in music isn't great but it does have custom music support without any work aside from copying songs to the game's folder. You'll be using a katana in your right hand and a fan in your left hand to slash or match the notes and there's also a 2 katana mode and a 2 fan mode to switch things up. One weird thing I noticed is how the beatmap generator favors putting notes on the wrong side. It feels like 75% of the fan notes are on the right while 75% of the katana notes are on the left. I found myself playing almost entire songs cross-armed. I decided to try playing with my controllers swapped to the wrong hands and it was actually more comfortable. If I can dig out my Vive wands, that might be my preferred way to play. I've only played on Normal so far, though, so I don't know if this is an issue on other difficulties. One thing I would like to see is more environments. There's only one city environment that has a day mode and a night mode. The night mode uses the lights in the buildings to provide some music visualization but the day mode doesn't seem to have any visualization that I noticed. Having a few different environments to chose from would be nice.
cool
Outstanding VR Rhythm Game!!
Livestream VOD of gameplay with custom avatar https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1997134090
Played on Meta Quest 2
Starting with performance, I had my meta quest 2 connected wirelessly through the hotspot on my PC and experienced no input delay the human body could register, and the graphics were outstanding. Game ran smooth the entire time, though if you stream/record and are using other plugins like OVR Toolkit, you may occasionally experience mild stutters, but when you're in the middle of the song, they should not pose any real issue. There were some minor bugs, notably sometimes a custom song will start over without a completion screen, which can be a bit alarming if you were expecting to catch your breath. A fix for this is to back out of the custom song menu and then go back in to select a song, between each one you do. When switching between swords only, only fans, and normal mode, there is a bug that can cause planets to auto-self-destruct on spawn as if you hit them. Now onto the gameplay itself. First off the way this game plays is different to that of beatsaber, as you're allowed more room between the objectives to really get into the dancing, and if you insert custom music like I did, believe me, you will start dancing. One slight downside with the custom music however is that normal and extreme don't feel too different from each other, as opposed to the included tracks. If you really want to chill between your own songs, definitely go for the stock rather than picking something slow of your own. Speaking of chilling, the explore mode is a nice touch as you can sit down and just listen to the music while petting virtual cats. Lastly, avatar stuff. You can use LIV, which is free on steam to import .vrm and other model types to the game and thus be able to dance for livestreams/recordings as your own character, which is a great feature. LIV seemed to have a minor bug where the monitoring display was in the floor, but the camera worked as intended so it was fine. Liv will also allow you to equip full body trackers, so get in there and dance.
The TL;DR
Overall I think this is one of the best VR Rhythm games right up there alongside the likes of beatsaber. It's still a little rough in some areas, but more than worth the full price tag if you want a game to really dance to. Thank you to the devs of this game for making such a gem (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
LOFI Katana is a paid VR rhythm game. It worked on my Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Has some music installed. You can use katana to cut the notes or use fans to match the notes. Has 9 steam achievements. Maybe buy, if you like VR rhythm games. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. This game is great, uploading your chill music and relaxing in a beautiful environment; it's a light workout that keeps you moving after a day of sitting but is not as intense as games like Pistol Whip, which is a nice contrast. This game is definitely a unique game with some new ideas compared to similar games in this category.

Started playing using steamLink and its so much more stable, got rid of a lot of the lag issues. The game still doesn't feel polished and I wish there was more effort put into the songs, but it is at least playable now! I can safely recommend it ! The concept of the game is fun and the levels are ok. As much as this game is enjoyable, it just doesn't feel like its there yet. I hope to see the developers give a bit more love to it! If its on sale, I would say go for it, otherwise it just feels half baked atm. I want to see this game improve but it just isn't quite there.
