Fans of the series will find moments of lovely nostalgia and some moments of disappointment. Fans of the genre will find a pretty darn good game. If you compare this game to the exquisite Curse of Monkey Island (my favorite of the series) or the original two by Ron Gilbert, you'll be at least slightly disappointed. The music, the jokes, the puzzles, the voice acting, and especially the art are much better in Curse of Monkey Island -- and in the special editions of Secret of Monkey Island + Lechuck's Revenge. But if you like the series and the genre, you should absolutely play it anyway. Critical Notes: -the puzzles were mostly too easy (even in Mega-Monkey mode), though there were one or two satisfying stumpers -the jokes were sparser and mostly less ha-ha funny than the predecessors, though there were a few genuinely great jokes -and the story lacked the lovely we-care-about-these-characters heart that Curse of Monkey Island and Tales of Monkey Island had (which, I gather, was never Gilbert's vision, so I respect that choice). -the least fun tutorial section of the whole series. Praise: That said, there's a ton to love about this game, especially if you can release expectations of previous entries. It is still funnier than most other video games out there. The puzzles are still fun and satisfying. The music is nostalgic. The quality of life is amazing compared to others in the genre. The voice actors bring you back home (even when they're replacing previous voice actors). The setting is pure nostalgia. In conclusion, if you're on the fence, buy it. It's a good game. As I said in the title, fans of the series will find some moments of disappointment, but they'll find moments of delight too. Fans of the genre will find a pretty darn good point-and-click adventure.

I have played every Monkey Island game when they first came out. This was a welcome addition to my collection, I enjoyed the gameplay very much, and it brought back many memories, even if I did feel it was easier and more stripped down from the origionals. All in all a good adventure to introduce to a new generation. Not too thrilled about the ending, but didn't really take away from the game. overall enjoyed it.
I'm a long time avid fan of Monkey Island since the very first. The voice acting, animation flow, UI and gameplay was phenomenal. Enjoyed this...but that ending left me like....WTF...the beginning was gross but pulls a fast one on you. My only complaint was the art style is a bit jarring, but it grows on you except for Guybrush, his design should have been better. LeChuck's design was the best. The other pirates were super super exaggerated.
Perdida de tiempo, lo unico bueno respecto a los antiguos es que han quitado los puzles absurdos pero solo los han cambiado por otros completamente lineales, no hay historia, vemos flashes de lo que hacen otros personajes que no llevan absolutamente a nada, ni siquiera las pocas teclas que se usan para el juego están bien puestas: tabulador, escape, m, punto y coma... como las uso a la vez que el ratón?

One of the best quests I've ever played. I recommend it to both fans of old quests and new players, as it has both a standard and a simplified mode. You won't have to spend a week playing to figure out where to go next. Great story, humor and characters. The visual style has changed from previous games, but I really like it. It's a 10/10 for me.
Um jogo íncrível, sou da década de 90 e tive o prazer de jogar todos os jogos da franquia, e re joga los varias e varias vezes, Return to Monkey island, não é apenas um jogo é uma carta de amor a todos os fãs. Vendo que tudo aquilo que mais buscamos, é às vezes algo simples, que encontramos com as pessoas a nossa volta, como por exemplo, o amor. Obrigado por isto Ron Gilbert, e por este sentimento tão forte que vibra em meu coração. Ahoy!
Good game, after the first 20 minutes you get used to the new artstyle. The ending was a bit anticlimactic, but if you are a fan of the first games it's a classic ending.
Finally got the explenation for the ending of the second game. A 8/10.
