Return to Monkey Island is an unexpected, thrilling return of series creator Ron Gilbert that continues the story of the legendary adventure games.

9.5/10 Return to Monkey Island is better than I expected. I may rate it higher than others due to my experience owning the first Monkey Island when it was released. In fact, it shares some of the best qualities including the "feel" of the original Lucasfilm adventures. It features high quality art, the animation is smooth. The sound effects and music are top-notch. On the other hand, as a contemporary point and click adventure, the interface is slick and efficient. The puzzles are mostly fair. The story is well-written with an abundance of comedy that fits the series. Unfortunately, it ends abruptly, but it was fun while it lasted.
I played the original Secret of Monkey Island a year after its release. Dial a pirate wheel and all. This game is of the same spirit of the original games. Puzzles aren't bad. Story is pretty fitting. Lots of in jokes which require playing the first games.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Immer wieder gut! 🥳🤣
If you loved the previous monkey island games you will enjoy this. Animations, voice cast, script, puzzles are all fun. No micro transactions, no battlepass, no weekly challenges. Just a game to enjoy
If you like the original, you'll like this too. Way easier though but funny :D
A fantastic send off to a classic series.
Great adventure game with a lots of funny puzzles. I've laughed a lot. :)
Well if you were 80/90s kid then nostalgia will kick in for sure! Great and funny adventure!
Verdict: Classic point and click adventure with all its quirks, possitives and negatives. If you are a fan of the genre pick it up immediatelly! + Positives + + Steam achievements (about 12 hours to 100%, 2 playthroughs) + Ron Gilbert + Monkey Island humour is back + A lot of returning characters + Ability to play the game on casual or hard + Hard has some RNG puzzle variations + The soundtrack still kicks ass + It was really nice catching up with Guybrush once again + The trivia questions made me relive some of my favourite Monkey Island memories + Love the fact there was Horse Armour preorder bonus + A lot of references to other media (e.g. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine!) - Negatives – - No Steam trading cards - I was never a fan of the meta endings - Hand crams from Speed Run achievement (finishing the game under 2h) - Several RNG achievements (cards, Cogg Island) +/- Neutral +/- The new graphic style is kinda hit and miss. I was much bigger fan of The Curse of Monkey Island
