Retro Endurance 8bit

Retro Endurance 8bit's collection of 40+ (so far) NES-inspired arcade games is an absurdly impressive feat for what is basically a solo dev, although it is occasionally slightly under-baked from a design perspective. Since this is still in Early Access, I guess I should try and give a couple of points of constructive feedback. Hopefully it is useful. The main shuffle mode helps give the collection an engaging structure, but in practice it is probably more of a chill grind than intended. It just doesn't feel like there are strong consequences for playing poorly. For instance, player mistakes only result in missed scoring opportunities as your character takes time to revive, which is an exchange that is a bit abstract and gives the shuffle mode a failure-free feel. This lack of tension could be improved by adding many more visual and audio cues to the scoring system. However, it might be simpler to add a basic health system; note that the boss encounters have much more tangible stakes simply for having a player health bar. During each shuffle mode run, at some point the games start running at double speed. This shift seems extremely unmotivated, especially since the large speed increase makes some of the games effectively impossible to play. This could be solved with better visual and audio cues to announce the tempo change. It might also be worth exploring more intermediate speeds that might be a little more playable. Anyhow, even with the flaws, Retro Endurance 8bit is still a great game.

I rarely leave reviews but I want to support this developer and sadly there's only 44 reviews at the time of writing this. It's like WarioWare but your progress saves when switching games. It switches through a handful per level so it's not overwhelming. If that doesn't appeal to you 20 of the games are fully fleshed out as their own NES style game. Platformers, SHMUPs, Beat em Ups, Puzzle games, all kinds of games are in here so there's gotta be something you like. At 4 dollars it's absolutely worth it and the developer is extremely active so just buy it k thnx

Very fun old school 8 bit games had a great time with this.

Bought this simply because the developer's previous works have literally changed my life and I needed to give something back. Game seems fun enough too :)

Fun little take on the mini game by the author of ZSNES!

A really fun collection of 8bit styled minigames made by a single developer (that's amazing!). It is quite reminiscent in concept to the WarioWare games, as well as UFO50, but the mini-games here are simpler to figure out and faster paced. Shuffler mode keeps you on your toes and there is plenty of gameplay variety. You can unlock most of the mini games as full fledged titles which is a nice bonus. The fact that you get so much gameplay content for such a low price seals the deal, try it out! Totally recommended!

This is a fun collection of MORE THAN 50 games. If you think that UFO-50 was a good deal, this is even better. Plus the dev is behind one of the greatest emulators of all time, so he knows retro games! Plus, it's like FOUR DOLLARS. YOU BUY NOW! D: Seriously people, DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS GAME! The library expands in a WarioWare style endurance fun of mini games.

Great 8-bit Warioware-like action. Works well on Linux. zsKnight, please let me exit the game using Esc anywhere! I know it's just 15-20 seconds to run to the exit pipe, but that's quite a while when someone's calling for me.
