this has to be the most underated resident evil game
Okay, cool game, I did not expect to like it as much as I did, but I guess me being a Valenfield shipper makes me a bit biased, tho this game's the who turned me into one. The story is nothing extraordinary, it has a couple of plot twists, but it's not a masterpiece. If anything, it feels a bit more convoluted and disorganised that it should be. The gameplay is nice, giving me old resident evil vibes, it did scare me a couple of times, and the main location was amazing, really gave the feeling of being locked and lonely in a place with swarming monsters. First of all, after the first RE gave me only like three scenes of Jill and Chris interacting, this game really awoke something inside me. The way Chris and Jill spend all the game worried about each other, trying their best to find their partner, it made me scream of joy once they were actually together. Parker was nice, he grew on me, Jessica's outfit was very cool until I noticed her leg being naked for no reason (?), and Keith and Quint are awful I hope they die and burn. Jokes aside, Jill and Chris's povs were way more interesting than those two. The plot twists are okay, nothing that will blow your mind, and there are no "revelations" about the main series, it's all really just a side story with little to no influence on the main games. Still, one of my favourite RE games, for blessing me with Valenfield content and for bringing back the Resident Evil experience I didn't very much feel since RE2RE. The scanner was a great addition to gain more heals, which was very much appreciated and needed, and the boss fights were... weird. There was one boss fight that was more of a horde fight which made me quit the game for a bit, but the main bosses were way more cooler and easier (tho the final boss, even if I appreciate the try to do something more original, it really crosses the line between realism and fantasy. I know RE itself already does that, but still).

Я не можу сказати шо гра погана, всяко краще ніж 5 та 6 резиденти, але сюжет невнятний абсолютно, другорядні персонажі з'являються раз і ніколи більше без наслідків на глобальний лор. Загалом гра відчувається як філлерний епізод.
i screamed for hours to "get me off of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boat". its not scary, its stressful by having bullet sponge enemies in tight corridors. it has its moments where it shines but they are too far and few in between, i wanted to give up but realized i had already gone to far and wanted to understand the plot.... then i understood the plot and it was so stupid i wanted to drown myself, you know its real bad when the big plot twist... there is a 3rd ship....from a year ago..... just skip this one i played it to completion so you dont have to.
