I've played this game for about 4 hours. It's a really cute concept, and quite a calm game. It is indeed visually polished, with nice music, and a few fun subsections like decorating and gardening that do coincide with the main event: managing a pizza parlor. But I simply cannot recommend it. There's too many things that leave a bad taste in my mouth. It's a free mobile game, but on Steam it costs money to play a really slogged down version that encourages you to spend real money. I really hate deceptive marketing. 1) The design: It's a little too repetitive with gameplay loop. I think the UX and UI are well thought out, except for the fact that it's not made for mouse, and is deceptive with paying real money vs in-game money. 2) This was obviously a game made for touch controls first, because the mouse controls and clickable zones are not consistent enough (causing you to mis-click a lot, and scroll across the pizza cooking screen instead of moving the pizza). 3) Way too much of a push for DLC, done in a sneaky way. The in-game currency is designated by a dollar bill image, and cash-shop purchases aren't clearly stated and designated with a dollar symbol ($). It's very easy to not catch that at first. There's also diamonds that you can buy or earn in game. All of the DLC is a reskin of items in game, which are published frequently but don't add any substance to the game itself in the slightest. 4) The gameplay loop is really slow and trudging for someone who refuses to pay-to-win. Earning funds in-game to buy the non-cash-shop items is a real grind, designed for you to get fed up and pay real money. I do not appreciate the predatory pay-to-win practices.
I really liked this game. It's a fun way to pass the time for sure. However, my game (out of nowhere) completely reset around Day 100, and you can call me a Fruity Pig Pie if you think that I'm actually going to start from scratch without being asked first. What a shame.
yeah i bought this because i liked the mobile version... just play the free mobile one. this version is mediocre in comparison. it was really buggy in my experience. a lot of features that are almost necessary at a certain point are locked behind microtransactions. at least the mobile version gave you the option of ads instead...
просто тупа афигенно кушаю пiцу и сморю видос ксго кофи
I know the game has glowing reviews, I wish I could also recommend it myself but honestly the game is just frustrating for me. I downloaded it almost a year ago and then uninstalled it after only 5 hours. But I installed it again today to give it another chance and was reminded why I gave it up in the first place. While there are negatives in the game, and its not for me, I can see how it can be a good game and has appeal. The art style is unique, gameplay can still be fun at times, characters and parts of the story can be interesting ( like Buddy the homeless guy) but its just not enough to sell it for me unfortunately. The main thing that makes it almost unplayable for me is honestly the customers (just like real life though lol). A lot of the customers don't give you a straight forward order, and if you are confused and ask them to clarify their satisfaction level goes down (and sometimes they still aren't clear about what they're ordering even after trying to get more info). I don't like the aspect of having to decipher and decode what someone wants. Like, one of the requests I just got was "Make me a pizza showing the social and economic inequality and the widening disparity between the wealthy and the shrinking middle class". Brother, what? Maybe I don't have enough intelligence or whimsy for the game, but getting to the baking stage and trying to decide what I can do right to satisfy the customer is frustrating. Or maybe its just a tad of autism where I want someone to be straight forward and just tell me what they want so that I don't have to just guess or have room to misunderstand. I often find myself trying to look online and find a bunch of Reddit posts where someone is also trying to understand what the customer wants. I know that games like these are timed events, you cant just sit there and make a customer wait forever and have them be happy. But the moment you take the order and go back to the kitchen, each second you take makes their happiness go down. For orders that are simple, like just a cheese pizza, its not the biggest deal. But when they want every single topping on the pizza and there's 15 toppings, and you need to align them on there correctly in the correct amounts, it gets super rushed. Maybe I played too much of Papa Louie games when I was younger, but I like the aspect in those games that customers can actually line up, and while one order is cooking you can leave the baking area, go to the counter and take another order and then start on another customers order. This game is more one on one, there's only one customer at a time, one pizza at a time and you cant choose to go between stations. Which can make it less stressful keeping up with orders, but honestly takes a bit of the fun away in my opinion. Lastly a good bit of content is behind microtransactions. If you want cosmetics, be involved with events, you need to buy it with real money or grind up gems forever. If you want to unlock a topping quicker you can pay for it with real money. You can buy more gems with real money. After every single day ends you are prompted to buy things with either gems or real money, and while I know that its an option, I am not a fan of the pay to make progress, get skins or pay to win type games. Its just a bit disappointing. I could overlook almost everything else about the game that I'm not the fondest of, but I just cant get behind the way the customers act and speak, personally. It would be more fun to get a straight forward normal order. I appreciate that they tried making it fun and challenging, but its just not for me.
To cut it short: Yes the mobile version is free and PC version is not, bought it on sale so I couldn't care less especially how I'm more on my PC however I've been playing this game for about 35 hours now in PC, and getting good decors is extremely difficult due to how EXPENSIVE the event items are. I seriously think they are pricing it way too high considering I'm already on Chapter 5 and my shop is barely decorated with the ones from the events because of their pricing. I don't condone the excuse of "The Shop has basic decors you can buy from", they're all mid sorry! I really want the ones from the events (ex. Mother's day, Valentine's day, Easter Egg, etc.) but they're so stupidly expensive how do you seriously thought of the pricing for those?! I prioritize the auto buddies too but because of how expensive those are too I can't buy any decorations from the events, hardly anything. It's crazy to me how you want to make such a cozy game into a grind fest because of how pricey your decors are. DO BUY THE GAME IF YOU: - Enjoy grinding this game (It's alright, I just want to finish the story while having my store and garden to look cute) - See yourself playing it even after Story Mode (After Chapter 5 you will be entering Sandbox Mode) - Can see yourself being okay that you will choose in between buying cute event decors or buying the auto buddies in the 5 Chapters (I'm already in the Last Chapter and my shop and garden still looks pretty mid because I prioritized unlocking all Auto Buddies, everything is too expensive and you will most likely get your shop and garden pretty after Story Mode) Anyways I don't recommend it because it's unfortunate how I feel like I need to overstay in the game to make my shop and garden cute as I want it to be without feeling like I have spend real money. I feel like after 35 hours of playing this game I should at least have my shop looking pretty but nope since every feature in the game is so pricey I hardly have anything. I think decorating your shop and garden is one of the most important things that makes this game great but they decided to make it too grindy so there is that. I get the concept of grinding for the better stuff, but it's too much even for my own level of patience and understanding. It's not a life simulator game where I feel like microtransactions can be worth it, it's just a cozy simulation game where you make pizza and with how expensive the non microtransaction items are it feels like the game is pushing you to get their microtransactions which is a huge no for me. Lastly, looking at some of the reviews the PC version is sounding like a coorp greed version compared to the Mobile version which sucks. Even I'd recommend anyone to just get it on Mobile instead.
I've played the mobile version, and this one is just as good. Frequent events and updates, good price. Amazing for cozy gameplay, love it.
Its nice I just wish that the upgrades like automatic topping placers are too expensive, they should not be $500 each
