Honestly, I quite enjoyed this; it was a solid 7/10. The game was at its best when utilising its main mechanic of swapping between characters. It helped make some otherwise forgettable enemies fun to fight, and it allowed for some intriguing puzzle sections. The rest of the game was fairly mediocre. The environments and most enemies were forgettable, and the boss fights were rudimentary. The characters and narrative were flat, the gunplay was serviceable, but the game did have a solid pace. I thought the recaps and sneak peeks took away from the horror atmosphere, and I wish they removed the minimap because it was too effective, making the environments a lot less daunting. Do you need to play the first Revelations game before this? Not at all. In fact, the first was rarely referenced. Plus, the events in that game were nothing more than a lore backdrop hinted to in dialogue.
Best RE spinoff btw
muy entretenido
It was a mental struggle just to bring myself to finish Episode One, with 90% of Part B just traveling through the same areas with a different character… I thought I learned my lesson with the first game, but I must be getting old in age, because this just ain't it…
