Playing this game feels like having your toenails peeled back while being waterboarded. The controls are terrible, there are bugs in the game that can render it unplayable, and not to mention the absolutely atrocious difference between console and keyboard. I can’t access more than half of my inventory because I was the chud that chose to play with a console so I can only use 4 slots for quick access and now I have to play Tetris with my AI partner just to readjust my items into the correct slot without her wasting all my healing items because there is NO WAY TO MOVE ITEMS UNLESS YOU’RE IN BETWEEN CHAPTERS. Every time I open this game I feel like I’m getting jumped in a parking lot and getting my lunch money stolen. It’s not even a good Resident Evil game. It’s not even atmospheric, nor do the sets evoke any sense of terror or dread. And the worst part? 90% of this game feels so racially charged it’s genuinely difficult to get through. Every time I find a researcher’s note in this game I break out in a cold sweat because it’s always a toss up of insanely charged messaging without ever being addressed or just a normal lore file. Oh, I’m scared alright, but it’s definitely not because of the monsters. With my whole heart, I hate this game. Even loathing is too weak of a word to describe the visceral rage I feel playing this. If you want a modern equivalent of being pulled apart by 5 horses in different directions, then this might be the game for you.
Sheva! Come on! Sheva ! Hurry!
Are you a fan of being talked down to by a man in sunglasses? How about punching boulders? Two words: Bug Plague? Cool, because that's a lot of what I remember from this game. This game sees Chris (a walking steak) and Sheva (missing ever since) investigating a region of Africa for bioweapon research. Umbrella Corp's weird cousin named Tricell Corporation saw some freaky insect parasite stuff going on in Spain and thought "Hey. Let's do some of that." So they did. And, unsurprisingly, it went about as well as the first time it happened. Now there are increasingly mutated citizens causing a ruckus and you don't want to miss it. This game is made to be played in co-op. I mean, you can play it solo, but you can also eat nothing but unseasoned rice and drywall. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Salt your rice and your life. Iodine is a necessary nutrient. Do you know how much background radiation we're hanging out in at all times? Anyway. Playing with another person makes it significantly more fun. You may be asking "Did you play solo at all? How do I know this is a fair review?" To that I say: Don't interrupt me or I'll get distracted. Having a human partner means you can strategize better, specialize more into different playstyles, and spark your braincells together like jumper cables on how to beat boss encounters because some of the mechanics are esoteric at best. This goes for Mercenaries mode too. Having someone who will competently and independently move around the map grabbing power-ups does wonders for your score. Some will say that the co-op detracts from the horror aspect of "survival horror." Which is fair, it does. But it's replaced with a genuinely fun experience that still sticks to the inventory management habits of the older games. Thankfully, the servers are fully functional and you can invite through steam with little to no issues. A word of warning: if you're achievement hunting, make sure to complete each chapter in one go. If you join mid-chapter, you don't get the completion achievement nor will you get the outfit unlocks at the end of the campaign. Not that you'll need anything other than the leather father Chris outfit. This is pretty much the original game. That is both a blessing and a curse. For example, not being able to move while aiming does make for some tense moments. However, once you decide to move, guess what. Your aim sensitivity is suddenly much lower when you move. Hope you got turned around in time because a rather perturbed man is coming after you. And his chainsaw has two blades this time which is mathematically twice as deadly. The cutscenes are also filled to the brim with late 2000s shaky zooms. You know the ones. If not, drink an entire bottle of wine and look around through your phone camera at 7x zoom. That's not a bad thing either. It's authentic to the era and it builds character. This isn't the most revered Resident Evil game, but that doesn't mean it's not fun. It's more action than 4 but not quite the QTE fever dream of 6. It routinely goes on sale for $5 which is especially good if you plan on buying 2 copies at once. I give it a solid 7. Which is apparently how many minutes that Wesker guy has to play with me. Which makes me scared.
Brings back memories. I used to play with my best friend all the time. Now my son has become an addict to mercaneries mode just like me!
it good
♥♥♥ iyi
es simplemente muy buen juego para jugarlo con amigos
really great coop game. hopefully a remake soon
