This game is a port of the Games for Windows - Live version that was released in 2009. If you buy the Untold Stories Bundle here on Steam, it will be the same as upgrading to Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 22.14/day in the week to Sep 8 → 33/day in the week after.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 33.63/day in the week to Jul 21 → 38.4/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Resident Evil 5 was always controversial, ever since it launched. Some people hated it, some people loved it and others just had fun playing it coop with someone. Is it a bad game? No, absolutely not. Is it a bad RE game? Well i'd say that if RE4 was a bad RE game, then this is aswell. Many people complain that RE5 was a beginning of "action" in RE series, but in fact it was RE4 that started it and RE5 just "improved" it. RE5 is just RE4 on steroids (literally... looking at you Chris) with coop. In fact, I think this is an amazing game and it's one of my favourite RE games which is funny, since I hated RE6 and many people compare RE5 and RE6 and i don't think it's a fair comparison lol. Chris is at his peak in this game, just like Leon was in RE4. You get Sheva as a partner throughout the game and I don't dislike her character, but I don't love her either. Playing this game solo might be a challenge on veteran or professional, since partner's AI is really bad, but I managed to beat it, so it is possible. Playing this coop however is veeeery fun and I honestly think that this is one of if not the best coop game ever made. The story is great, the main bad guy? TOP NOTCH. Wesker is at his best in RE5 and you can't go wrong with aura farming bad guy. His lines are iconic and I think everyone can recognize him. The gameplay is basically an improved version of RE4, it's veeery similar, but it has more depth i'd say. The DLCs are good too, but nothing special. I also think mercenaries mode in RE5 is the best in the series with it's characters and quite challenging action. If you have someone to play it with, PLAY IT RIGHT NOW AND YOU WON'T REGRET A THING. Solo? Well it's worth a try, but be careful with veteran and professional difficulties. Overall, I think it's an amazing game and it's one of my favourite RE games ever. I hope when remake comes out, it will fix some flaws like bad level design and partner's AI, but we shall see.
