Reviews
The mechanics are dorky, the dialoge seemse like its written by a child but the story is fun and there are at times some very frustrating parts. I originally played and beat this game on ps4, the pc verision is no different. It is a good game, solid controls, wish there was a bit more to custimize ships but ill take it.
Rebel Galaxy is a spacefaring adventure that deliberately carves out its own identity within the crowded space simulation genre by blending arcade sensibilities, sandbox freedom, and a distinctly relaxed “space western” atmosphere. Developed by Double Damage Games and later published in partnership with SNEG, the game places players in command of a heavily armed capital ship rather than a nimble fighter, immediately setting expectations for a slower, more deliberate style of space combat. Instead of overwhelming players with complex flight models and dense simulation systems, it focuses on accessibility, steady progression, and the satisfaction of carving out a personal story among the stars. From the outset, the game establishes a strong sense of autonomy. There is a light narrative thread to follow, but it never forces you down a rigid path, allowing you to decide how you want to survive and thrive in its procedurally generated galaxy. You can take on the role of a mercenary, trader, pirate hunter, or opportunistic drifter, jumping between star systems to accept contracts, haul cargo, or scavenge the aftermath of battles. This freedom is central to the experience, as the game encourages players to set their own goals, whether that means amassing wealth, upgrading to increasingly powerful ships, or simply exploring the galaxy at a leisurely pace. Combat is one of the game’s defining features, largely because of how different it feels compared to most space games. Movement is constrained to a two-dimensional plane, which transforms encounters into something closer to naval warfare than traditional dogfighting. Positioning your ship to unleash devastating broadsides, managing shield facings, and timing turns becomes far more important than twitch reflexes. Early battles can feel slow and even punishing due to limited firepower and sluggish maneuverability, but this sense of vulnerability is intentional. As you upgrade weapons, install better shields, and eventually purchase larger ships, combat evolves into a powerful and satisfying exchange of heavy fire that emphasizes preparation and strategy over pure speed. Progression is closely tied to the game’s economy, which forms the backbone of its long-term engagement. Credits earned from missions, trading, and combat are constantly reinvested into ship upgrades, creating a tangible sense of growth. New weapons, turrets, defensive systems, and ship frames gradually open up more lucrative opportunities and tougher challenges. While this loop can involve a fair amount of repetition, particularly in the early hours, it also delivers a steady rhythm that many players find relaxing. The grind feels purposeful, as every upgrade visibly improves survivability and combat effectiveness, reinforcing the fantasy of rising from a small-time operator to a formidable presence in the galaxy. The galaxy itself, though procedurally generated, succeeds more through atmosphere than sheer variety. Star systems are filled with asteroid fields, space stations, nebulae, and occasional anomalies that give each jump a sense of scale and isolation. Encounters with pirates, militia forces, and other factions help give the universe a lived-in feel, even if interactions are relatively simple. Faction relationships add a layer of consequence to your actions, influencing mission availability and hostility levels, which subtly encourages players to think about how they approach different jobs and alliances. A major contributor to the game’s identity is its audio and visual presentation. Visually, it opts for bold colors, large silhouettes, and clear effects rather than hyper-realism, ensuring that combat remains readable even during chaotic engagements. The soundtrack is particularly memorable, leaning heavily into blues and rock influences that reinforce the game’s space western tone. This musical choice sets it apart from more traditional orchestral sci-fi scores and gives long travel sessions a distinctive, almost meditative quality that enhances immersion. That said, the game’s design choices are not without trade-offs. Players looking for deep simulation systems, complex political dynamics, or handcrafted narrative moments may find the experience too light or repetitive over time. Mission types do not vary dramatically, and the procedural nature of the galaxy can lead to familiar patterns after extended play. Combat, while satisfying, lacks the verticality and precision of full six-degrees-of-freedom flight, which may disappoint fans of more realistic space sims. Ultimately, Rebel Galaxy succeeds by knowing exactly what it wants to be. It is not a hardcore simulator or a cinematic space epic, but a comfortably paced, mechanically approachable sandbox that emphasizes player freedom, steady progression, and a strong sense of atmosphere. For players who enjoy commanding large ships, experimenting with loadouts, and drifting through a galaxy guided more by personal ambition than scripted objectives, it offers a distinctive and rewarding journey that stands confidently apart from its peers. Every market we collect.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I didn't need to read anything to learn how to play. So refreshing! This game is entertaining. I highly recommend it.
This is a great game if you want to fly around in a space shift do some trading, some mining, some light or major piracy. Sandbox space game where you don't need a friggin PHD aeronautics and a dang joystick to fly around feeling like a awesome space captain. This makes space in this game on a level plain like a ship on the ocean I found it very enjoyable and fun. The game difficultly can be spiky and sometimes frustrating but learning this game is a blast and once you know you mostly know. I am really glad I brought this game and certainly got my moneys worth. Get the fault tracker early and mine.
I've been looking for a good Freelancer style game. This one definitely fits the bill. Tons of fun, love the ships and combat. Still learning everything and loving the freedom. Now if they can just do a remaster of Freelancer
Fun game, and great for anyone who enjoyed Privateer/Freelancer.
Cannot use inverted mouse on the turrets.
Rebel Galaxy is a game I keep coming back to again and again. It's got a satisfying game play loop and evokes the feeling of Freelancer. The game is easy to pick up and there is so much attention to detail and making sure the game plays smoothly that it always feels like coming back to a comfortable home. Sound design and soundtrack are great and everything just kind of clicks into place in such a satisfying way. If you're a fan of space sims, this is one you should definitely check out. It's got a different feel from "pilot a fighter" type games, but it's also not quite a detailed and crunchy capital ship feel. It hits a weird nice spot in the middle and works really well on a controller as well as keyboard and mouse.
Pros: pre-game launcher, moderate graphical settings menu, vertical sync is off by default, windowed full screen mode (it is borderless), badass soundtrack, badass narration, voice acting & decent lip sync, tutorial available, there is a “commodities market” to buy/sell items for traders, side missions & random encounters in the map Cons: bullet sponge enemies, the interface could be better, only 12 save slots, I got stuck with a mining main quest Overall, it took me about 3 hours until I had to delete the game, unfortunately. I see the potential of the game, it just needs better design. Rebel Galaxy is a miss
