Victory Conditions
Victory is achieved by either destroying all enemy bases and units or accumulating more points than your opponent by the end of the time limit. You earn points for every enemy unit destroyed, rewarding tactical gameplay and daring maneuvers.
Bluffing lies at the heart of the strategic experience. RUSE are special cards you can activate at any moment to influence enemy perception, reinforce your troops, or gain crucial intelligence. They provide unprecedented gameplay depth, transforming every engagement into a duel of wits and bluff.
RUSE cards are divided into four major categories:
Reveal Information (decryption, espionage)
Conceal Information (radio silence, camouflage)
Create Decoys (dummy units, false offensives)
Alter Unit Behavior (blitz, terror)
By combining these cards, you'll orchestrate complex strategies and turn the tide of battle.
In R.U.S.E, each faction embodies a great power of World War II, bringing its own units, specificities, and playstyles. Choosing a faction means adopting a different strategic approach, tailored to your preferences and personality as a strategist.
United States: Versatility and industrial might.
Germany: Quality and firepower.
France: Resilience and defense.
United Kingdom: Air power and artillery.
USSR: Quantity and durability.
Italy: Speed and mobility.

R.U.S.E.: An intense strategic experience where RUSE and adaptation make the difference.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- English: I honestly had a good laugh reading the single bad review I managed to find after scrolling down forever. If someone feels that negatively about the game, that’s entirely their business — but for once, I can fully agree with the majority here. I’ve rarely played a game that makes warfare this entertaining and enjoyable on a gameplay level. It basically feels like “Sudden Strike” modernized — without all the outdated and exhausting elements that often made older RTS games feel slow and tedious. On top of that, the base building strongly reminds me of “Command & Conquer,” and somehow this combination works incredibly well. What impressed me the most is the control scheme. In classic RTS games like “Sudden Strike,” you often spend a frustrating amount of time sorting units, manually selecting individual squads, and endlessly scrolling around the battlefield just to stay organized. Here, everything feels much smoother, more intuitive, and far less exhausting to manage. Especially on controller, the game feels surprisingly natural — which is extremely rare for a real-time strategy game. No endless micromanagement, no tedious hunting for the correct troops, no constant fighting against the controls. A lot of it simply feels like: “Yes, this is exactly how it should be done.” I’m genuinely happy that this game is available again. I had been hoping for a long time to finally play it together with friends. My only real criticism concerns the DLCs: at the moment, they seem to only be available bundled together with the base game, which I already own. Right now, I don’t see any way to get the DLCs without paying for the main game a second time.
relaxing. good counterplay and ok pace
Best WW2 RTS I've played.
its great game and im glad its back plus its from my childhood was about 9 to 12 when i first played
I havent had this much fun playing a game in a long time. Apart from the multiplayer de-syncs which will hopefully get fixed, its easily one of my favourite strategy games of all time!! Would recommend!
Not sure how many hours I logged on the PS3 version, but thank you Eugen for bringing this back to Steam. TLDR: RUSE is a WW2 strategy game that uses almost rock-paper-scissors mechanics balancing the units, with main gimick being the Ruse mechanic that allows you to fool your enemy, deny them information, buff your units or defuff theirs faction. With all the DLC included you can even use nuclear artilery, which is always incredible. This is one of those games you can easily sync multiple hours into without noticing. It's a classic, it's fairly simple to learn and a great time, an it'll run on a modern toaster. I recommend it at full price.
Classic base building RTS making a come back with the re-release and aging very good considering its age. Went through the whole campaign on the Steam Deck and it was flawless, excellent controller support once you get the hang of it. Also the Zooming In & Out is some of the best I've seen in RTS, pretty unique and well done.
