short and sweet
You push buttons, that's all pretty much. On the first glance... Really, this is one of the creatively simplictic and delightfully short puzzle games utilizing their limited mechanics to full potential. Don't even try comparing it to Portal (I mean... you still will, because Portal is what everyone measures puzzle games against for some reason), but it's about as good as you can get if you want simple, easy and relaxing game that is finishable in (looks at playtime) 73 minutes or less. I'll even go as far as saying it is worth buying at full price (yes, I did it, I recommended a game at full price... happens sometimes).
Becomes very boring at the end
Very interesting.
In PUSH, you have floating devices with buttons on them, and you need to figure out what you need to do to keep each button pressed. It's as much a figure-out-the-rules-of-the-puzzle game as it is a puzzle game. Of course, buttons of a type will have the same behavior from one puzzle to the next, so there's room for increased complexity as it goes, and it was just enough to keep the whole thing interesting.
Another great small puzzle game from Maciej Targoni, this time in collaboration with Hamster on Coke. Great concept, pretty easy to grasp. Some levels were more mind-breaking but in the end, all were doable. Nice activity for couples - takes between 1-2 hours to complete. Pretty, simple graphics.
PUSH, as with every other games from Maciej Targoni, achieves taking a simple concept or idea and making something fun and enjoyable out of it. The mechanics of the game are intuitive, and each time a new mechanic is introduced, it is done in a clear and understandable manner, or through a purposeful challenge of reflexion. The levels slowly increase in difficulty, yet they remain within a casual range, without becoming dauntingly complexe or time consuming to solve. The visual aestethics of the game are clean, polished, and of good quality. In the case of PUSH, my only negative criticism would be in regards to seemingly random colors that appear on pressed buttons whenever a level is solved, which feels off and visually unecessary, in a place where a single unified color would have felt more harmonious — but this is a matter of personal preference and does not take away from the game in any meaningful way. PUSH is overall a good quality, slightly challenging, and enjoyable puzzle game from Maciej Targoni.
An enjoyable and smoothly challenging experience, with solid design and great visuals. Maybe a bit too short.
