About the game
Publish or perish is a minimalist survival game with roguelite elements. It is themed in an academic setting where in order to stay in academia you will have to publish as many papers as you can within a time limit. Evade and defeat reviewers, employ nefarious schemes to increase you metrics quicker, unlock new academics. Can you make it to tenure?
The weapons, boosts and other cards that you will use in the game are inspired by real world practices at Universities all around the world. Some of these practices help science progress, whereas some are detrimental to it.
- Choose between eight weapons and nine academics, and test your scientific skills in the office, the lab or at a conference talk.
- Choose new weapons, boosts and other cards whenever your productivity metric increases.
