制作组唯一的优点是丰富的想象力，在千禧年满足了缺乏娱乐方式的大伙上天入地、千变万化、敢打敢杀的幻想。 剧情推进设计流水账，角色除了机动性能优异操作手感稀烂，大型敌人全是霸体导致肉搏战斗交互感几乎没有，BOSS设计全TM是零帧起手还有超绝连击加高额输出。制作组可以算是完全不会设计动作游戏。 在2026年，去掉童年滤镜真正上手后才发现，这款游戏除了艺术设计以外，可以算是粪中之粪。真佩服当年老辈子能啃着这块硬骨头坚持玩通关。 当年这游戏能大火，真这狗草的制作组中彩票了。还造了个 虐2 出来，一下子就把这帮傻逼的剧情设计、难度控制水平暴露出来，成功造死了这个系列和制作组。 还好制造组解散的早，这辈子也不会再有 虐3，再也不用给这帮神人组的制作组花钱了。

If you can't get both working in an hour, just return it. If you are willing to get it running, not go thru used store for a copy (60 dollars for 2 nearly 20 year old game that you have to hope you can get running? About 30 dollars on sale), and willing to get over the dated graphics, it is good. One of those Sandbox games from the decade of sandboxes. It felt fresh cause you where a anti-hero. Also from the era where the game was complete and no nickel and dimeing. It has rough edges but It was a new IP and rushed out for the xbox 360 and PS3 generation start. So that is why people say 2 is better. Take that as you will.

Bit of a childhood game for me. Great game, of course, and I would strongly urge anyone who hasn't played it or seen it to really give it a shot. It's totally worth the time in my opinion, though I do wish it were a little bit cheaper given when it came out. That also reminds me, make sure you don't have extremely high expectations for the game going into it. It is a 2009 game after all, so of course things are going to be just a little bit clunky at times and the graphics won't exactly be a modern masterpiece. It's about gameplay, so just enjoy the game.

desperately needs an update or at least a disclaimer that this game will NOT run on modern hardware without a workaround. with that said, prototype is an incredibly fun game. the aesthetic alone is something im obsessed with, and while the story is a bit of a mess it doesnt matter too much because i dont care! its classic overpowered chosen one MC with amnesia tries to piece together his dark and mysterious past, theres just enough pieces for things to probably make sense if you care about it but even if you ignore the story its still really fun to go around stabbing zombies and blowing up cops while you backflip off a skyscraper into oncoming traffic and slaughter countless innocent civilians. the stealth sections are decent, the combat is incredibly fun and engaging, the progression system is just as if not more engaging, and (most) of the boss fights are cool as hell. i have some really fond memories of picking up a car and seeing how many civilians i can punt with it in a row when i was a kid, and replaying it as an adult i can confirm its still just as fun as i remember. the graphics are a bit dated, but the game literally came out in 2009 and i honestly think it looks incredible considering the time period. highly worth the purchase if youre willing to use one of the many guides on how to get it running properly, though generally id wait for it to go on sale instead of getting it at full price
