You don't need to "thread-the-needle" here, I really disliked those missions in the AC games.

the game is not perfect, the story/characters arent that memorable, but the combat is very enjoyable. def worth playing if you find AC7 fun.

i can tell this is an successful ace combat-like due to the fact that there is at least one mission that successfully made it feel like id taken an upper. what a rush. bonkers story and setting that im kind of enamored with, i wanna see more if this bizzaro world. also having multiple special weapons is soooooo much fun, makes me feel like a real menace. just a real treat of a game.

an incredibly fun ace-like with fantastic visuals and a downright PHENOMENAL soundtrack that i highly recommend obtaining separately. gameplay in my opinion is a lot more user-friendly for keyboard and mouse players, especially with a very simple mouse-aim way of guiding your jet. there's a decent variety of playable aircraft, PLUS the ability to sortie with up to THREE different special weapons. difficulty modifiers like double gun damage or max-rank enemies can add variety or challenge to missions. the story is pretty ridiculous to its detriment at times even by ace combat standards (at least a third of the game's written dialogue is references to the games that inspired it, and another third are shoehorned historical quotes) but a handful of character performances during missions are able to shine past that and make you feel like you're a small piece of a bigger picture.
