Very good and nostalgic
one of the best games i have ever played
Arkane at their prime. A must-play if you enjoy first-person adventure/exploration heavy games. Insane amounts of choice on how to approach combat and exploration. If you enjoyed games like Bioshock, System Shock, Fallout 3/4/NV, Dead Space etc. You'll find something here you'll enjoy. Still looks great. Also, Mooncrash is a whole other experience that's really worth trying after beating the main story.

It's superbly fun. The gameplay, environment, storytelling, character writing, dialogue. All soaring remarks across the board. I'm especially impressed by how interwoven the lives of the NPC's are, and how by the end of the game I feel like I naturally learned a lot about each of them without even going out of my way. The NPC's lives really feel akin to games like Return to the Obradin wherein you're learning about what went on after the fact, and you're slowly piecing things together. This in tandem with a very stealth heavy game that emphasizes smart engagement over typical gunplay, makes this very very fun. My only real big criticism is that choices don't really matter and that the game just unceremoniously ends. There's no final boss fight. No big chase sequence. No waves of enemies you have to fight as you run down the timer of a bomb. You do a few final tasks, walk to several checkpoints, and then the game ends. And it especially doesn't help that no matter what you did, you always get the same ending. There's a lot of emphasis on not using alien powers, because you'll be giving up your humanity. And there are several humans throughout the game that are mind-controlled that you can go out of your way to free. Turns out doing any of these things only adds 1 additional line of dialogue at the end that amounts to, "You didn't have to do that. Thanks." Disappointing. It's a small blemish in what is an otherwise overall good game, but it really did leave a bad taste in my mouth as the final thing I am left with. Minor nitpicks: Alien powers all suck anyway. They don't do a lot of damage, and most of their utility only amounts to stunning very specific types of enemy for a few seconds. They cost too much energy. Whereas the one human ability Combat Focus basically freezes time universally, lets you attack faster, and removes all stamina requirements. Still a lot of fun. I got it on sale for about 5 bucks, so I certainly got my money's worth out it of.
