Planet of Lana II continues the story of I in new planetary and spaceship settings. The visuals are awe inspiring akin to Somerville and Inside. That said the puzzles were significantly more difficult to get through as I had to use YouTube guides to help get through them. I look forward to the third installment and hopefully a more smooth set of puzzles to progress through. I would recommend this game if you enjoyed the first and generally like puzzle games.
To the stars, with a hand full of warmth and a heart full of home.
There are games that you simply pass through, and then there are games that you hold in your chest like a flickering lantern on a cold autumn night. The Planet of Lana duology is exactly that — a soft, radiant lantern. Publishing this review now, as the second chapter unfurls its wings, feels less like writing a review and more like signing a love letter to a universe that felt like home from the very first frame. At its core, this duology is a breathtaking masterclass in silent understanding. It is a story told in the quiet gaps between words, in the warm, wordless spaces where Lana and Mui meet. From that fragile, unforgettable moment in the first game when Lana wakes up after a heavy fall, clears the fog from her head, and names her little savior "Mui", a bond is born out of pure light. They do not share a language, yet they share everything. You feel it in every soft whistle, every anxious whisper of "Ima" when danger looms, and every gentle "Meno" that settles over the screen like a sigh of relief. It is a cosmic reminder that true connection does not need a dictionary; it only needs presence, care, and the willingness to look at another soul and say, "I see you." What makes these two games so special is how they handle the heavy, beautiful weight of change. The world of Lana is one where ancient moss meets metal, where the gentle rhythm of nature is suddenly shaken by the cold, mechanical hum of progress. Yet, the game never falls into bitter despair. It gently teaches us a lesson we so desperately need right now: acceptance. It shows us that progress and change are inevitable, like the shifting of tides or the turning of seasons, but they do not have to erase who we are. We can embrace the future, we can walk among the ruins of old worlds and the flashing lights of new ones, while fiercely keeping our humanity intact. Lana and Mui are the living heartbeat of this balance. They move through vast, changing horizons, yet they remain soft. They remain kind. Because our own world is beautiful, we should learn to cherish it as it is and protect it as much as we can. It is so achingly, brilliantly beautiful, and it is the only one we have. Every hand-painted blade of grass, every golden sunbeam piercing through the canopy, and every icy mountain peak in the sequel feels like a painting you want to breathe in. The game makes you fall in love with the earth beneath your feet all over again. But then, it lifts your head up. It makes you look at the sky. The magic doesn't end where the ground stops. The duology stretches its arms wide open to the cosmos, whispering that beyond the stars, there is a boundless, infinitely beautiful unknown waiting for us. It tells us not to be afraid of the dark spaces between galaxies, because as long as we carry our light, our warmth, and our capacity to love, the universe is just another canvas for wonder. This is a journey that feels like a starlit sanctuary in a storm. It is a quiet invitation to remember what it feels like to trust completely, and to let yourself cry tears that feel like a gentle cleansing. Thank you, Wishfully, for giving us a world where a girl and her little friend can look at the infinite, wondrous void of space, and make it feel incredibly, unconditionally cozy.
I've crossed a thousand lands To find what I could stand. And all over the whole wide world, There's still so much more to hold...

Saving Private Kitty, Pt II
Key features

Expanded lore,
Frequent underwater sequences,
You can mind control fish!
As good as first Planet https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3764878679 Press "D" to play the game, stop now and then, then run. PoL II has the same visuals, same mechanics and same characters. Yet its lore is generously poured on us. Space journey, flashbacks play, robots, forgotten information... it's just like watching the Disney Atlantis, where Milo learns the history of the kingdom underwater. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3764875933 Breath! Speaking about underwater - it's a new norm to dive in every few minutes. You take the kitten with you (wrapped in a safety cocoon), you use submarine. At some point you even navigate fish and spray ink clouds to hide yourself from turrets and electric eels. And then you are back on surface, running away from furious robots and humans. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3764876273 40gbs though? As I said about, PoL II looks just like first Planet. There aren't new mechanics and the game itself takes to beat as long as first Planet. So, why is it four times heavier? Mystery... Please don't make 3rd Planet even heavier? Worth playing! Easy to complete, got few questions regarding story inconsistency, but maybe that will be covered in the 3rd Planet.
This game is even more gorgeous than the first one! Beautifully painted backgrounds, the gorgeous animation and the ghibli-esque art style make this game a wonderful journey. The story is beautifully told in a fictive language, but that makes the characters even more expressive! Despite that, you are able to understand everything, if you just pay a bit attention to the meticulously crafted animations the characters have, and the way they speak. Also Mui is love, Mui is life! <3 I will DIE for my dear Mui!
The only critiques I have of the game are: - The overly large file size, 40gb is nothing to sneeze at. Developers need to stop treating disk space like free real estate and lean to compress their files. - The obvious cliffhanger end. I personally like my games told in complete stories, not let the ending up in the air. Yes I know there will very likely a 3rd Planet of Lana game, but in today’s unpredictable gaming market, publishers can shut down a studio on a whim, or the studio can implode due unforeseen circumstances. I’d hate to see the story unresolved because of that.
