This game replaces dialogue with mood and quiet space for interpretation, and instead of hitting hard, it slowly sinks in.
I thought maybe there would be more to it, but it's a simple puzzle game with about 35 minutes of content, plus another 20 minutes for the optional ending which you get for collecting all of the hidden flowers. It's not a traditional adventure game, more of a visual storytelling experience, with some very basic puzzles, essentially there are like 25+ small rooms where you have to figure out how to advance, each takes about 30 to 60 seconds. There are a number of similar games on steam that reward you with a hand-drawn animation for making progress, even having similar color choices (it reminded me a little of Looped), and this one is not the most interesting one that I played, the puzzles were extremely obvious, so most of the value was in the visual experience, for me anyway. I never got stuck for more than 60 seconds, it's not a very difficult game, which is fine with me, although I would have adjusted the feedback on some intractables, can be a little funky at times. To be fair I did enjoy the ending, even though the game didn't really attempt to have much depth to it, not really trying to have any emotional impact, which is not always a bad thing, but in the end I kinda felt like it didn't do much for me. Pro tip, you can hold D to speed up the animation cycle, will help you a lot with the 10.000 meter achievement. There were some consistency issues with how they designed hidden flowers, it's hard to explain, but you might have to think outside the box, and I don't mean it in a good way, I kinda had to click the ____ out of the background to get a few.
Pros:
(+) I did enjoy the animation, especially the cutscenes, and I liked the little twist you did at the end, but it's pretty much all the game has going for it, just some nice visual moments, the puzzles and the exploration were not that interesting, a bit too simple for my taste. (+) There is some collection support to unlock the last level (you can 100% in about 70 minutes)
Feedback:
- For the hidden flowers, I think players can logically assume that some of them are attached to doing strange interactions or just clicking on objects, but what might confuse some players is that some flowers are just kinda hidden in the background with no visual feedback, so if you going to do those things, I would recommend maybe having some visual Q, instead of just having a spot on the screen where you have to click. Some flowers have them, some do not. - It's perfectly fine not to have a heavy story, but I think I wanted a few more smaller moments for the characters, even though I liked the ending, there wasn't really much happening in between emotionally, sure the game looked cute, but that is about it, I think you need to develop the characters a little more, make them a bit more memorable. Overall Thoughts: 6/10 Honestly I feel like I played so many similar games, I want them to be a little more creative and explore the characters more, it's fine, if you just want a cute experience for 35 minutes. Depends if you want to support short games that do hand drawn animation, I like to do that myself a little bit, so it was worth it for me personally, but overall, it wasn't a very interesting game. I still liked it, but to be brutally honest, just another cute game I won't remember in a few days, there really isn't much to it. In this adventure/puzzle game you have to click on objects on the screen and watch how they react. Game progresses through stages, and you alternate between several characters. However, the story and ending might reveal what connects them, but all of it is told through visuals and short animations, so the interpretation is pretty open. Each level is a single screen or a somewhat wider area where you can walk left and right for a few steps. Although hotspots are not marked, you can identify them through art or by dragging the mouse around, which turns into a hand icon. There are only a few in a puzzle, so they are easy to spot. Puzzles are not difficult and require only a few minutes to solve. There are not many hotspots, but you may accomplish a lot by simply clicking or experimenting. You will need to push a few switches, observe the environment, and push various objects, but the puzzles are not that unique in each puzzle. The collectible in the shape of a flower is hidden at each stage. This requires you to click on an area or do a specified action, such as repeatedly kicking something. Essentially, if something can be kicked and is not critical to the puzzle, you can kick it a couple more times to make sure. While most flowers are easier to detect because they change to a hand icon, others become available only after a specific action. For instance, you need to sit on a rock for a while. When a flower is discovered, an icon appears on the stage. This is significant since finding all flowers unlocks the game's true ending.
