Very Fun Gameplay, Very Cute Story. Very Endearing Game, Can't wait to see what Pocket Trap makes next
9.5/10 It's like Oracle of Seasons/Ages but more focused on movement options. It has beautiful pixel art and makes a funny critique of modern society. I enjoyed the whole thing, I never got bored. I don't think it's correct to call it a Metroidvania because the movement upgrades are unlocked linearly (except the first two). The only thing that annoyed me is that the game exposes you to some water puzzles that can't be solved without specific upgrades later in the game, but the game is not explicit enough about that (I wasted a lot of time trying to solve them). Skip the water puzzles until the endgame if you want to avoid that frustration.

REALLY solid game! i absolutely loved the whole gba feel it got going on, game just oozed with style in every corner from the ost's soundfont to the simple yet expressive pixel art. the debt collection mechanic was also very interesting and gave a lot of challenge throughout the game other than just the normal gameplay loop
A riot to play! New Jolt City is vibrant and crammed with things to do and places to see. I loved popping open manholes and jumping in to see what weird sewer yoyo puzzles awaited me. Having played a lot of games in the style of top-down Zelda, I think it's a master stroke to combine all your traversal and combat needs into a single yoyo that can do a couple handfuls of tricks!! What a fabulous idea. There's so much good I could say about this game, but really... give the demo a try!!

Very charming game. Easy to pick up and enjoy.
While not entirely perfect, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo still provides an all-around very enjoyable experience reminiscent of the handheld titles you probably played in your childhood. This one's a certified Steam Deck essential.
