About
The 2.0 update is extensive, transforming nearly every aspect of the game, but the highlights include:
Fully realized pilots – Recruit pilots with over 100 unique pilot traits and abilities which allow for in-depth buildcrafting and synergies with your mechs. With a new recruitment and class specialization system, expansive leveling with varied progression trees, combined with new visual customisation options, you can build your own flavor of deadly (and stylish) ace pilots.
A reworked campaign – New maps, new quests, and new combat scenarios along with fully rebalanced factions ensure you face varied squads with different equipment, armour and unit configurations. You have even more reason to collect new equipment and experiment with different loadouts to take on these new threats.
Completely reimagined overworld – Explore new provinces, varied landscapes and overhauled campaign systems. New liberation and overworld mechanics, new points of interest and events, new province modifiers and improved mission generation provide a varied, constantly evolving environment to encourage players to adapt and overcome.
A HUGE amount of community driven quality of life updates – New salvage and debriefing menus, new mission previews and reward generation, reworked workshop and crafting, improved damage logic and prediction, new options and difficulty settings, comprehensive weapon balancing, subsystem reworks and much more!
Phantom Brigade is a cinematic, tactical mech strategy game with an innovative timeline-based command system. See the future, predict enemy actions, and plot your counterattack on the timeline! Recruit and level up your squad of rebels to retake war-torn Fyrland from the Kaskad occupation.
Cinematic spin on the turn-based genre – Predict enemy movements, orchestrate precisely timed countermeasures, and hit “execute” to watch the physics-based action unfold in real time.
Extensive customization – Featuring a rich customization system, Phantom Brigade enables you to fine-tune the performance of your mechs, install a wide selection of equipment, and access a wealth of cosmetic options. Prepare your squad for any challenge - in style.
An expansive arsenal – Railguns, beam weapons, missiles, energy swords, and more! Rain destruction down upon your homeland’s invaders with weaponry salvaged from each enemy mech you defeat.
Strategic tactical combat – Make high-level tactical decisions on the world map, manage your mobile base, and decide how to apply your limited resources. Take command of your squad in varied missions ranging from sabotage of enemy equipment and convoy ambushes to liberation battles and challenging outpost onslaughts.
Destructible environments – It's not a proper game about giant mechs without destructible buildings! Phantom Brigade allows every square meter of each battle map to be destroyed. Shatter your enemy’s cover and collapse buildings on top of them!

You should give it a shot. It's fun. Plus the devs seem cool and put out free content updates.
This is a really fun game. If you like tactics games and/or mech games you'll love it. It plays close to Front Mission combined with Battletech in a good way. Unit customization is fun and there are a ton of components to play with.
Aunque tengo experiencia en juegos de estrategia por turnos, este sistema de premonision debo decir que me parecio bastante innovador ademas de desafiante. ampliamente recomendado

Seems like this is probably a me problem, but I just don't get it, and I don't have the motivation to try. The game is just not my thing. Seems to be more about the spectacle of robots blowing up than anything else. By the third mission I'm like, what the hell is even happening?
This is why I play on PC. 9.5/10 game from a smaller studio. It's mechs and there's melee combat. If you're thinking about getting it, you should.
I've played this game in several forms since launch and I will say after 2.0 its awesome and you should absolutely give it a try if you like tactics games, especially if you like simultaneous turn based games like me. If you were disappointed at launch or after the 1.0 campaign update, this fixes the issues I had with it. Pilots actually have stats and level up and matter when they die, camping and repairing your mechs or resting your pilots can become a tactical desicion and you can run low on resources and have to make difficult decisions. Its a must if you just love assembling big mecha and watching them shoot each other. I'm loving it in 2.0.
Never heard of this game before somehow even though it's the type of game I would love, but I randomly saw it during a sale recently and instabought it. I'm having a blast, this game is so much fun. The customization feels deep enough to scratch that optimization itch without feeling too deep that you need a spreadsheet to keep up with it. The loot randomization is totally fine as well because you can 'scavenge' parts after a battle with a set budget to get things that you want/need. Probably about where half of the parts on my mechs came from at this point. The combat really does feel good once you get the hang of it. I've had times where I was up against triple or more units on the enemy side, really makes you feel the whole small force trying to fight an empire vibe. Also makes it so you actually have to learn how to dodge attacks and use terrain to your advantage. The predictions system is really fun to play around as well. Since you don't have a time limit on a turn, you can spend as long as you want setting up exactly how you want that turn to play out. Sometimes you'll miss something or mess up, but then you have to line with it and fix it during the next turn. Anyway, this game is goated and I love it. I hope everybody who thinks this game looks fun gets a chance to play it.
I was skeptical because I thought this game was complicated, but the planning system is greatly implemented. It actually gives you more freedom than any other turn based game I've played, and I've played a lot of them. It's visually beautiful and I'm surprised how well they implemented the controller support. It's perfectly playable on Steam Deck too. It will struggle a bit to get steady 30fps if you crank the visuals up, but honestly as it's a turn based game with slow motion I haven't found that to be an issue.
I would give this game a hell yes. I would put this in my top 10 as simply fun to play. I really enjoy these plan and execute games. This one is slightly different than most as it will give detailed info on the enemy's upcoming actions. It is fun being able to use one mech to distract and have the other jump up on a building and shoot the enemy in the back. Or have a sniper in the back spamming heat block cooling to be able to put down a volume of fire. Or another is to have a heavy mech with a shield and bash enemy mechs into buildings to make them take front and back damage. Heck, with certain equipment you can use your thruster to bust straight through a building to flank an enemy. There are pilot perks, different kinds of weapons that can have mods slotted on them, choice of reactors and different types of available slots for different manufacture and part types. Basically you can build your mech out however you like. I came back to the game because even years after the release they created a 2.0 version which changed quite a bit about the game. One thing that most of the community has asked for is a full battle replay. And they delivered! It must be enabled in the experimental settings on the main menu. It is amazing to finally be able to see the full battle from start to finish. It is fantastic. I backed the original EGS exclusive from way back in the day, so I have 150 hours more than my playtime on Steam. The reason why I have both Steam and EGS versions is that I wanted to make some Workshop mods, and it was a good way to support the devs for making 2.0. Would recommend =)
