If the developers could bring back slower and more functional scrums from Rugby challenge 3 and capability to add 5 to the rucks from Rugby challenge 3, will be the best Rugby game play ever released in my opinion. If they were to add push over animations in the ruck, when you overwhelm the opponent in the ruck. It would be the almost perfect rucking system. Add some scrum penalties and you got yourself a great Rugby Challenge 5. Was informed the game may get some upgrades. Combine the best features of Rugby challenge 3 (scrums, rucks) with best features of Rugby Challenge 4 (smarter AI, and set plays). And you got yourself the best Rugby game play ever created. With the latest update game playing even better, they have a few bugs to iron out, but this is the best realistic Rugby game play experience. Now lets get some creators making some teams. I think the team working on this game is committed to improving this rugby experience. Remember you can always tune the game you want to with the many sliders available. If you like arcadey make it arcadey, if you like it more real rugby, you can do that to. Love that they are keeping this game alive. 5 stars for effort , look forward to more improvements. Edit: The game has improved even more with the addition of possibility to add up to 5 in the ruck, even though it is rare to do this, it is a great addition to the game play, should have never been taken out, this game is officially a different version with this addition to game play, which is great. Hope the developers will continue to add little things to the game which go a long way, like more simulation scrums that are more like Rugby challenge 3, were there can be a little more back and forth action, or it can be quick if you time the scrums perfect, if they could add scrum infringements , this little addition would greatly enhance the rugby sim play.

Amazing Rugby Sim. Animations and gameplay mechanics haven't changed since Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge, but if it's not broken, don't fix it. This game is Rugby Challenge 4 just without the licencing as it has expired, but doesn't affect my experience with the game whatsoever. Be a pro mode is very good, as well as the option of Rugby 7s. Sometimes the AI can make silly decisions like passing to random teammates or not kicking when 7 phases in and they still can't get out of their own 22. Sliders in the options of the game let you cater the game to you. I've messed around with these a little and can say they improve the gameplay significantly. You can make the game more realistic with these settings. Graphics are a bit disappointing for a game that was originally released in December 2020, and haven't really seen much of a graphical improvement over the span of the Rugby Challenge Franchise, but the gameplay is solid so I would definitely recommend this game for rugby fans. UPDATE: Just when this game couldn't get any better, they remaster it as a free update. Visuals are amazing. Such an upgrade. Give them the licensing for the next rugby game already.

great game , need more player made teams and it will be perfect.

Might not included all licensed teams but still a great game as you cannot purchase RC3 or RC4 anymore. Wish it would run better on the Steam Deck but is mostly playable. Definitely not a whole lot of choices when it comes to recent Rugby games so keeping fingers crossed the developers would keep this updated and fix whatever bugs there is

The game looks worse than it did before and somehow plays even worse than rugby challenge 2 which was made 10 years ago. The ui looks worse as well and when you try and play on harder all it does is make your players worse. They dont move, and in attack they never go deep or wide they just all bunch up together leaving you with no choices. How can a game be made so much worse over a 10 year period. I'm sorry but this the worst rugby challenge I've played.

The game runs quite poorly for a game that costs upwards of $50s. The save mechanics of the game are quite poor as I often find myself unable to actually save any of my changes.
