Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 5.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
From Obsidian, this game is a historical narrative-driven game focusing on character development, heavily stylized art, and choice-driven storytelling in early 16th century Bavaria. Players will play as Andreas Maler, a clever illustrator caught up in a series of murders in Tassing and Kiersau Abbey over the course of twenty five years. Players will be responsible for conducting their own investigation to decide the fate of the community, but each decision will have lasting consequences and inexorably draws Andreas closer to the center of an underlying conspiracy.
Experience 16th century Europe as the master artists of the time saw them. Art inspired by great illuminated manuscripts and the earliest printed books becomes a living, breathing world in Pentiment.
Choose different academic and social backgrounds and meet a colorful cast of characters as you discover the stories and secrets that lie within the small Bavarian town of Tassing and nearby Keirsau Abbey.
In an era of great religious and political change, each decision you make can have a profound impact on the community’s future. Find your own way through this turbulent time and see the consequences of your choices play out over generations.

A teď mne omluvte, jdu si pustit film Satanova pěšinka s Kirkem Lazarusem.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

The game is peace of Art.
Lovely game with lots of references to the time period it is set in.
I found Pentiment because my friends watched the trailer and their first thought was “Oh, this is a very [MissingTriforce] game.” They were partly right. What is honestly the most immersive, detailed, beautiful rendition of late medieval Bavarian life is unfortunately carried on a wet fart of a plot, to the point that I stopped playing early in Act 2. Pentiment purports to be a murder mystery. I am very familiar with murder mysteries, both in book and game format. I know sometimes the mystery is not the true point of the story, and the lion’s share of narrative weight is given to themes, settings, characters, or other storytelling elements. Umberto Eco’s The Name of the Rose, a clear inspiration for Pentiment, is like that. Pentiment attempts to replicate its predecessor, but it falls painfully, woefully short of a symphony, more like a man sticking a trumpet in his butt. The main trouble is the mystery is not complicated or layered enough. I’m not a super mystery solver—when I read a volume of Cadfael, I’m scratching my head until the final chapters. Yet with Pentiment, I identified the culprit handily, as the only one with motive, means, and opportunity. Cue my surprise when the game heavily guilt-tripped me, Andreas
confessed that the accused was likely innocent, and fan discussions all say that “there’s no solution, you’re just choosing who deserves punishment.”
The experience was just so incredibly unsatisfying. Obsidian Entertainment wanted their mystery to be thought-provoking, but either refused or were too inexperienced to do the legwork required for deeper thought. Worse, Act 2 doesn’t allow Andreas to investigate the one person who perfectly fits the created profile of the perpetrator, instead
putting us through another round of “which character would you like to see brutally executed in the town square?”
I was done. The pretending at difficult mystery is my major criticism. The more minor ones are more typical stuff, like making Father Gernot rather ignorant of how abbeys function in order to have more stakes. And all that being said, you may notice I still gave Pentiment a thumbs up. That’s cause everything else is drop-dead gorgeous. Another reviewer said that while he was playing, he was in Tassing, and I couldn't agree more. Medieval marginalia is lightly touched to modern sensibilities and used as the aesthetic of the game. Early modern and medieval songs are breathed through new lungs. The use of font as a storytelling tool is stupendous. There are incredible musings on art, feminism, education, workers’ rights, and religion. I loved that players could input Andreas’ background, and how the choices add unique flavor to interactions and sometimes make puzzles or persuasion checks easier. You can pet the dogs and cats. There are many, many Easter eggs for medievalists, either as a brief allusion or a baked into the plot. Drenched in history as it is, the developers’ love for the period shows clear. The warp and weft of their weaving is sublime to behold. If I could just hang out in the setting with the characters, I would unreservedly recommend Pentiment. As it is, my recommendation comes with a heavy caveat. Don’t play Pentiment if you like mysteries. Don’t go in expecting a mystery. Go in to visit a medieval world resurrected.
Grandios
Came out to be a much better and different experience than what expeted at first. I bought the game for the visual side of the production, however the story was incomparable to anything else I have ever played. Execution of cultural background also prepared at the highest level. Breathtaking.
The art in this is obviously full of love, the story is so full of well written intrigue and twists that I have not seen coming, time and time again. Each character has SO much personality and are such amazing representations of facets of society from wayyyyyyyy back then. And, surprisingly, the soundtrack is beautiful. From the chanting in a chapel, to the music played in an inn, to the suspenseful chase scenes, it's all just so damn good. Haven't put this game down since I got it, looking forward to multiple playthroughs of this gem.
