i loved the orignal game. man they butchered it. up to spooky the game is PLAYABLE, not good by any means, but its playable. after then its literally souless playtime padding. absolutely ruined a game that i enjoyed so much as a child
Just as fun as playing this game back on the Playstation 2. The boss battles are updated and it adds a lot of charm to the game! 10/10
Clyde has me trapped in frog hell. help
world changing as a kid; still fun 20yrs late; touch of new additions were nice 8.5/10
The original version on GCN was very important to me in my early gaming years. It taught me the joys of 3-D platforming even before I played SM64, and I maintain that this was an underrated title. The remaster presented here was great. The update graphics were shiny & polished. The updated bosses felt like the true vision of the devs if given more time. The embellishments to the levels were overall very welcomed, although the transition from the ice level to the volcano level was cooler in the original. They added some fun QoL features like time trials and a silly gacha minigame. They even added a hard mode after the final boss. The biggest negative for this game is definitely the voice acting. They got the World 3 VA back, which is great, but they gave him like 2 voice lines for standard gameplay. The voices get extremely grating even before 1 level is finished. The cutscenes aren't too much better. This can be circumvented by turning off voices in settings, so this is overall a moot point for me. Overall, I recommend this game if you grew up in the 3D platformer era and want to add a solid entry to your collection. Maybe get this on sale if you simply have a passing interest in Pac-Man, but as a long-time fan of this game, I was happy with this remaster.
For the most part the game is fun and nostalgic. This has been a revisit to my childhood. My only complaint is that there are some fruits that never spawn in a mission here and there and I don't get the achievement because I have gathered every fruit on the map except a single apple that I couldn't get to despite how much I searched for a route. Other than that the boss levels are VERY UPDATED and its fun having to learn how to beat the ghosts at a moments notice. I would buy this again.
This game is bad. The team behind this should never set foot in a game studio ever again. They should feel bad about this "game". I would genuinely pick Deltarune and its annoying retarded fandom over the time this game took from me. Please play the original version of this game, the Gamecube or Playstation 2 version are the most preferred. Save yourself the 30 dollars.
This game sands off some of the rough edges of the original Pac-Man World 2 and makes it much easier to play and enjoy. This is broadly a remake of the original, but it makes lots of changes: small (e.g. some level layouts are slightly altered), large (e.g. some level layouts, especially boss levels, are greatly altered), and small but with outsize impacts (e.g. you can flip kick while standing, making most enemies trivial to deal with). I really appreciate that the boss levels in particular were changed, as they were fairly same-y in the original. However, they go a little too far in the other direction, especially late in the game, as boss fights get longer and longer with poor telegraphs and no meaningful checkpoints. Thankfully, there is an easy mode you can turn on at any time that makes it so that you don't take normal damage, and the only in-game thing this prevents you from accomplishing normally is the time trials. The inclusion of additional challenges and rewards in the form of outfits, mazes, games, and trophies is nice. I won't spoil the nature of it, but there is some post-game content that's worth playing too, which was a nice surprise for me. This is worth your purchase if you played the original game. It's not identical, but it is fun, and the original game is still there if you prefer it. (I do recommend turning the voices off in the settings menu though; Pac-Man does not shut up during normal gameplay and the cutscenes have terrible writing.)
Get this game if you want to relive your childhood!
I like the collect-a-thon and puzzle like platform genre of games and this game is a golden star at it. The only problem is sometimes the remote controller will not properly connect to the game
