Ticket to Ride®

I experienced frequent hitching during gameplay. Originally I thought it was an issue with Proton. Different versions didn't help at all. Then I moved the game from my hard disk to my SSD. Went away altogether. A game whose entire contents can fit neatly inside my PC's RAM has no business performing this poorly off a mechanical drive. Slow load times? Sure. But the gameplay performance was ass! What are you constantly hammering my storage for??

Incredible game ruined by predatory monetization – Disrespectful to players Rating: 1/5 I love Ticket to Ride. I love it so much that I paid to purchase the game. However, I am writing this review because the monetization strategy in this digital version is absolutely abysmal. The game is riddled with constant demands for "expansions" and additional payments. This practice drastically lowers my rating because it signals a complete lack of respect for the initial investment I made. I paid $6 for this game, and yet, the developers act as if that isn’t enough. To put this into perspective: the global mean monthly salary is roughly $1,480—which breaks down to about $9 per hour. That $6 I paid represents a significant portion of a day's work for much of the world, yet for this company, it’s clearly "not enough." This level of greed is insulting. The game itself is brilliant—I genuinely love the mechanics—but the way you have implemented these microtransactions feels like a slap in the face to your paying customers. It feels as though you are telling me that my money doesn't matter and that you have no intention of providing a complete experience. I am a child of the 80s. Back then, when you bought a game, you received the entire game—not half, not a quarter, not an eighth. You bought a product, and you owned it. This trend of "pay a little more, and maybe you'll eventually get the whole game" needs to end. If my $6 isn't enough for you to provide a fair experience, then good luck with your business model. I’m done.

While I've always thought Ticket to Ride was a fun board game, the implementation of this shines above nearly anything that I've tried when it comes to local multiplayer via Steam Link on the TV. There is a companion app on the play store where each player sees only their hand and routes while the game itself is displayed beautifully on the TV screen. I would argue this type of functionality should be built into Steam Link, but it is not and the designer of this game does a fantastic job.

Same like the old one, easy to play and more importantly easy/quick to find games with the online Matchmaking feature. The DLC contains new maps in case you get bored and want to try something new. My only beef with the game... who the heck uses "Bubble" accounts these days? But i guess it's a minor one and takes only a few seconds to make one.

I'm honestly suprised seeing mixed revieuws for this game! Me and my partner have had close to 40 hours of fun and we own the real life board game. Getting the round the world tour expansion is very worth it if you are a fan of this board game!! I do have to add that the servers have had issues in the past with connections randomly getting broken but the game quality and vissuals i have to say i am very pleased with.

Fun game! I really like that you can get the expansion packs as DLCs.

Despite the awful move to retire the old game with all its DLCs and make everyone buy the new version again... It is a better version, and a good game. Runs smoothly. It is TtR. What else can be said? If there is a Humble Bundle available, buy the bundle and adjust it so all the money goes to a charity and none to developers, to avoid rewarding robbing people of the game they bought. But buy it and play it.
