About
Has something got you down? Stressed you out? Scared you? That's pretty normal. It might help you to talk about it.
In Kind Words, players anonymously write out their concerns and sorrows by making short requests for letters.
Everyone can respond to requests with letters of comfort, sympathy or gentle advice.
Kind Words is a positive context; a warm, cozy mood. A place to feel centered and focused on the opportunity presented:
Use your words to lift others and be lifted in return.
You start the game with a couple random stickers in their inventory.
Stickers can be placed on letters written to others or sent as an appreciative response to a letter that has been received.
Once you get a new sticker, you can make copies of that sticker to send out to other players.
Each sticker also comes with a 3D toy that you can put on display in your room.
Swap letters to build up your collection of stickers and room decorations!

Kind Words 2 exists and it is awesome! But this original version of Kind Words is still supported. In fact, the two games share save files and players of both games can write to each other. Enjoy the heck out of Kind Words and when you're ready, hop on over to Kind Words 2 for an expanded experience!

I spent a lot of time utilizing this game as a past time where I could also help others. Unfortunately, I have noticed a theme - everyone is loved, everyone is supported, and everyone is very positive toward letters, hence the "Kind Words" title. This isn't the reality though. This game is overwhelming with positivity, but lacks actual advice for situations, acknowledement of feelings, or any accountability of the users posting. This game is a fake reality, where you can post opinions, thoughts, experiences, whatever you want, and are expected to receive only KIND answers in return. This is toxic positivity in my opinion. I do not recommend this game. If you are seeking actual community support, real answers to your questions, or anything outside of "Things will get better!" "You are loved" this is inaccurate. These people on this game do not love you. Nobody knows you. They proceed to fill you with soft, kind, support and in reality it's not true. For a communication game, based on community support and engagement, I think this game is full of nonsense. I joined, as I used to be on YahooAnswers, helping people in my free time. However this game is just people infilitrating false kindness, compassion onto total strangers. It is weird community.
Maybe my heart is too cold, but this feels fake af. The people who need Kind Words the most will undoubtedly not benefit from this BS at all. GO SEE A THERAPIST. The letters here are honestly no different than LLMslop. "You Matter"; "I Love YOU"; "KEEP GOING." Eh.. Go see a therapist, bud.
I'm writing a few things I was curious about before purchasing the game, so you don't have to Google it like me :) 1. No, the game or the community isn't dead after Kind Words 2. Kind Words and Kind Words 2 are using the same server, so if you want to save a couple of bucks, you can still purchase this one! 2. Yes, you are safe. Ever since I joined the game, I never, ever encountered any toxicity. HOWEVER, I have seen some reddit screenshots, which developers quickly replied to take action. The game has a report button, and devs are taking it seriously. Also you are completely anonymous, so you don't have to worry about your information. This is not a game. This is a beautiful community and kudos to devs for creating such a safe environment. Only downside of this would be the character limitations while you are writing, but other than that, there is nothing!
a cute reminder that a lot of people are actually very nice, and that anonymity on the internet isn't only for bad actors, but also helps normal people be more honest with themselves and with others, and can create beautiful interactions!
I intended to try the game out for a few days before I passed any judgment about its efficacy towards mental health, but what I found is disturbing and heartbreaking. This is people turning to AI for support, but co-signed by being human advice, technically. This sort of activity does not support mental wellness and propagates vicarious trauma. This is not a healthy app. This is not a good app. This is not a safe app. This is not an app anyone should be using anywhere ever.
False Hope? This game is a something that has to do deal with "good initiative, bad judgement" I really do like the idea behind this, almost wanting to fall in love with it. By the developers creating a positive and safe space for people who are in need and in sharing their thoughts, or what they might be going through, and they won't or can't go to someone close to them to discuss these without feeling as an outcast. However, this game is just giving false hope with no key identifiers of what is actually going on besides the generic "I cant figure it out" or "I've been feeling down and out does anyone else have these feelings" (these are not verbatim just examples) etc. with vague positive responses because there is nothing to go off of to offer real actual positive or correctional feedback. Minus the attention grabbers that are seeking validation of saying what they are identifying themselves as in this game.... I do like how I sent out a testing letter to actually see if someone would respond with a specific request and the "devs" responded based on my letter that I made, (unless its AI automated and generated within the game of what I put in the letter to send back out to me) non the less, I was impressed by it. In my opinion, this game is just giving people false hope and or attention grabbing in the game. This is a lofi chill game where you write and send letters. However I really don't see any real world/game value out of this in making vague "you can do it champ" better for someone. I recommend that if you really do want this to grab it on a sale a HUGE sale...
Kind Words is exactly as the name suggests. It's a game I visit when I'm really going through it and I want some kind words from a stranger, no more, no less. In Kind Words you can make a "request", which is an anonymous short bit of text that other players can reply to, also anonymously. Like others have mentioned in their reviews, there is no way of going into detail about the situation you want to describe or the reply you're giving, since there is a pretty low word limit. Still, the game makes me feel a little less alone and it keeps my mind occupied when I'm struggling. I've not had any toxic replies, which kind of surprised me tbh, so kudos for that
cute game where you send messages about your worries to other people and then get responses back. the music is nice. everyone is trying to help each other out. be kind.
发售的时候正值疫情,给了许多人心灵慰藉。没想到这么多年过去,还是很快就有回信。 喜欢这个暖心的游戏! 有时,我似乎将这里当忏悔室了。
Though this game is the one that kicked started this genre here on Steam (after the productivity boom on the mobile platform from the game "Forest" 2014 or "Viridi" 2015 and the Chilledcow youtuber influences in 2017...), but time has passed and there's even a 2nd sequel to the game already. So this review is based on current games of this genre to date on a comparison style.
