I REALLY liked this game, little bit freaky, I did like that it was 2D and the story and graphics are 10/10
I have really enjoyed the storytelling and ethical quandaries that this game has superimposed on the spooky end of the spectrum. The art style is really neat. At first, the game is slow and a bit dialogue heavy to set the scene, but don't let it lull you into a false sense of security...things are about to pick up.
Ortalama.
Fajny i klimatyczny symulator chodzenia.
Generally well written, straight-forward exploration of a good spooky concept. Though I did find some rough corners. Some high-level (spoiler free) feedback for the devs below. * The idea of walking-and-talking is great, but this game makes it too easy accidentally skip dialog. Sometimes options interrupt the current conversation, and sometimes not. Sometimes I hit the option as it's fading, and it's just ignored. I'd want to see future games have a way to clearly lock in an option to be said once the current line finishes being read vs interrupt immediately. * I'd also like to see a clearer indication of when progression will interrupt dialog. I was reluctant to walk much during talks because I was worried I'd go too fast and just kill an interesting talk. Or maybe could add a way to restart a talk that was interrupted? * Hitting a button to trigger interactions makes sense to a degree. But it seems unnecessary for a lot of the "climb up" / "jump down" sort of animations. Why not just have a system where walking into those obstacles for a short time triggers the animation? That would make things flow a little better. * I'd also recommend making the colliders more slippery/forgiving. Had a few moments where my character just got suck on some mystery edge while walking around rounded path boundaries. * It might be better for Alex to say the exact words I select. Noticed the tone was sometimes a little more/less aggressive than I'd intended. One last point about the choices that affect game flow: I think narrative games greatly benefit from avoiding choices that are easily categorized as "good/nice" vs "bad/mean". Especially in spooky games, I default to being nice (don't want to put characters in more danger!), which makes the choices a bit too straight forward.
I liked the story, even though I think they could've let some more clues to understand exactly what happened, apart from the multiple timelines and bouncing into them thing. Nonetheless, it was a good game, cute aesthetic, kinda problematic if you want to post youtube video cause it has a lot of copyrighted music.
9/10 Wow, better than expected. Perfect for hot days. Get it for mystery, great characters and emotional/spooky story. Too much info is spoiler.
