A typing game that also builds your micromanagement skills. This review also encompasses acquiring all the achievements. To preface, I average around 100 wpm under "normal" circumstances. Pros: - good typing practice. In some scenarios, you build your vocabulary lmao - lots of gimmicks that provides an extra challenge. These modifications can be toggled on or off and include: faster/more words, backword words, no hit runs, no mistakes, etc. And let me tell you, they are challenging alright. - there is a plot if you care. - soundtrack is not bad. Cons: - personally, I find the scoring to be a bit odd. To get more scores, you have to balance out typing the words in general with the COLOUR of the words to stack those colours and get a bigger point bonus. Ehhhhhhhhhh - achievements can be buggy. It's criminal to have achievements dedicated to racking up x amount of y and not either implement the steam achievement counter, or having an in-game counter for said stats. As such, I have tracked my words and found the "Kill xxxx enemies" to be buggy after achieving a particular other achievement. It appears that resetting your progress can work but man is that tedious. In these instances, it becomes such a grind and frankly, not fun. You can opt to use a script. Overall, a good game to get some typing practice. But tbh, for your money, I don't see why you can't just go on typing practice websites and type away. As for achievement hunting, don't go for this game and save yourself the headache. Otherwise, good quality typing game and it's your time and money.

It's the only Typing Game I've currently got in my library. It's outstanding well. The WPM I create more then doubled since I started, that didn't even take an hour. For barely 4€ it was a great deal. And I can recommend outshine for a game of that genre, so that you have one. Among hundreds of games. 1 Typing game. That's something like Outshine. After barely an hour and ones through the easiest difficulty I want to recommend it to myself for even more game time. Get that as an addition to my outstanding library was a wise choice. You might need to pay a fullprice of 12.99, but you could argue that. With 3,89 it was realy fine to me. By having nearly 400 Titles, I have nothing alike. That's exactly something I've been missing, and is of a different kind of game then the others I have. It's a huge bettering to my library for 4€ and that's why I recommend you might do the same and get it at a discount. It's something to wishlist for. I'll see, when I look and need to look for better. It adds a genre to some librarys potential, and among the games to have, this is one as well. Edit: After having been through it. I realy recommend it as a game. It's a great piece in my library and might be in yours as well. It might be close to exactly what you look for in a game of this kind. It's realy well made. It offers higher and lower challenge. I just got aware of it in this sale and recommend getting it for 3.89. 12.99 will still get you a great game. The opportunity to play it is well worth both. Right now as I write this they didn't ask for 12.99, which was to my favor. Wishlist to get informed about Discounts on it, if you better want to wait the difference in price. Grabbing it on sale was a wise choice to me, and in my oppinion is to other players as well.

Way better than it first seems, A lot of speedrunning potential, and very polished

Outshine is flashy, arcade action set to the tune of frantic typing that perfectly scratches that occasional need to jab at your keyboard with great speed and accuracy. It's engaging on lower difficulties but far too overstimulating at higher ones. As Outshine gets harder, it becomes more about target prioritization and visually processing the debris that’s on the screen. It can be downright difficult to see all the individual letters homing in on you when you’ve got so many other typographical objects on the screen. The default font doesn’t make distinguishing between characters such as “O” and “D” particularly easy either. Oh, and you're gonna want to immediately rebind 'strafe right' to anything that's not ‘right CTRL’. I actually forgot that button existed.

In terms of typing games this is probably the best I have ever played. A variety of modifiers and difficulty options allow you to adjust the game so it matches your typing speed and abilities, it has a fantastic art style, an energetic and motivating soundtrack that I could listen to for hours and accessibility options including a dyslexia-friendly font. If you're shopping for a typing game, this one's well worth the price and I can highly recommend both it and its soundtrack!

If you like typing games I guess it is quite OK.

This was really a miss for me. I actually love Fishing Cactus typing games until this release. This isn't one of those adventure games. It only reveals the storyline after you pass the level in text format. Think I will wait for their next release instead. A next adventure typing game as good as Epic tales or Nano tales !

Somewhat zen typing game. Good fun to just practice your typing a little. Does not teach you to type; just place to practice and go with the flow.
