Honestly ever since i played Operius on opera gx i fell in love with it and this is even better when you die you get words of encouragement buy this
Despite being barely an hour in there have been multiple times where i'm at the edge of my seat with my eyes fully open locking in directly at the ship so the spinny twister things don't instakill my precious creature that i've leveled up with a lot of care so this must be a good game. And it is! The movement is snappy, the pacing of the levels can go from 0 to 100 very quickly (which works in it's favor), and the enemies are all very simple, but when combined together they can make for one tricky ass bullet hell labyrinth to go through. Only bad part so far is that my eyes actively don't like looking at it. Although i like the visual style this game is going for i had to turn on the night light feature on windows so the insanely bright colors hit a little less hard. I'm no expert on how this type of issue should be tackled but adding on/off toggles for some of the fancier effects could help alleviate the issue.
I'm bad at it but it's pretty fun and they COOKED with the visuals.
11/10 needs parry button
I did try and give this game a chance, but in the end it feels much too RNG dependent. Sometimes you will just get hit from an enemy that spawns behind you that you literally cannot see. Things fly at you so fast in such cramped space and if you get hit once, dead. I do like classic arcade experiences but I don't find this one fun so much as incredibly rage-inducing. I also really dislike the rings mechanic. If my gun is low level and I literally just can't get to a ring because it's surrounded by enemies that take 3 hits to destroy, I have no idea how I'm supposed to get it. And if you're at a high level and miss a ring because it spawned above you good luck because you just lose a gun level and have to stay in the sector even longer. For me, incredibly frustrating, but I see that people do like it, maybe it's just not for me.
If you enjoy quick arcade action that's also somewhat brutal then this is the game for you!!!
Honestly it’s a pretty good time - very arcade and very much inspired by the likes of Tempest which is a classic for a reason. The music is awesome and the pixelated vector graphics are simple but VERY effective. Hard as nails. It will definitely test your reflexes! But I keep coming back to it even if I only play for 10-20 mins at a time - it’s good to have a game that I know I can quickly pick up though.
someone could waste away their life at this game trying so hard to get high scores on the leaderboards
Pretty fun arcade shooter.
a fast and straight forward game.
