Do you like doing a bunch of basic arithmetic really fast for 30 minutes straight as a form of recreation? Yeah, me neither.
One of the best economic games in history, and horribly underrated. Offworld Trading Company is a masterclass in game design. It's completely original and absolute fun. There's nothing wrong with violent games, but seeing one that focuses on markets and stocks tickles my brain in just the right way. It also has a very competent AI (not perfect, but certainly not pushovers). Soren Johnsen and Mohawk Games deserve all the praise that this game gets. It's truly brilliant. 10/10, capitalism on Mars, what a beautiful sight.

Ehh its pretty fun. Not amazing. I really dislike that the cost of the DLC is entirely disconnected from reality. $100 for DLC in a game I'd say is worth no more than $30? I want to play the DLC, I don't want to pay AAA prices for DLC in a small time little game like this. Devs gotta get their heads out of their asses with those prices.

This feels like playing a city builder as the CFO rather than the usual COO. This is very much a game about markets and finance rather than engineering and logistics. Tickles my brain in a good way. Strongly recommended for the novelty.
It is a nice simulation but has a major fault. At the last stage of the game, when you can buy shares of your opponents or your own the computer buys up the shares without you even getting a chance to see that they are available. It simply buys them even if you spam the purchase button. Whereas you bet for claims or advancements, you get a chance to put in your bet, when it comes to shares you cannot buy them even if you have the money for it. So in the end you are having a fun game until the last stage when the game mechanics simply screw you over by not letting you buy shares in other companies or your own towards the end, because they are sold to the AI instantaneously. So the replay value is totally diminished because you have no chance to a fair game. I would not recommend buying this until this has been fixed.
An actual masterpiece of game design. You never lose because of random events, only the actions of all the players in the game. Predict what others will do based on a million events and you MUST buy low and sell high to win. Play mulitplayer, it's way better than singleplayer (although singleplayer can be fun)
I love it, its been 10 years and I keep coming back to it.
Every game feels super different and its a lot of fun with friends! (you have to use an older version of the game to get multiplayer to work tho)
