2nd ever review in my life and I can safely say Octopath Traveller 2 is well worth your time. The HD/2D graphic style is a breath of fresh air in an industry where graphical fidelity seems to be climbing towards the realism. The boost/break battle system also is a phenomenal build on the classic turn based genre. The soundtrack is incredibly underrated and I still listen to it when I need some background music or even on runs. My favorite part about this game is the variety of ways you can tackle it. Want to do a full 8 character play through as intended? Amazing experience. Want to try and master a single character? Totally do-able. While I wasn't a huge fan of all 8 individual stories, the game overall was such a relaxing and comforting experience. My only wish is that I played the original Octopath before playing this one.

An amazing blend of classic nostalgic jrpg and modern art and gameplay mechanics. The storytelling is a bit unique and might not be for everyone since its essentially a collection of 8 short stories. However most of the 8 characters and stories are masterfully told with amazing voice acting and music. Overall this game really does scratch that old school jrpg itch while also feeling fresh and modern. Its also pretty unique it its storytelling and exploration approach. Definitely worth playing if you enjoying a good old school jrpg.

Love this game! Very good short stories. Simple game but endearing. I must say OP 1 is better for story.

Phew. This game. The name alone weighs more heavily after playing the first and second now. The idea of following the travels and journeys of eight characters, each on their own path, and discovering how those paths intersect is really satisfying. Each character is truly distinct, the villains truly deplorable, the overarching narrative wrapped in history and lore, and the world and enemies you face varied and distinct. While you can prepare, and overprepare, the final boss and optional boss will still give you some trouble I expect. Overall, a long game, but a complete game, with complexity that doesn't feel overwhelming and the ability to vary your gameplay in a way that feels right for you. Mix and match your characters and items and secondary classes to make something fun and satisfying. I admit sometimes the game felt like it dragged a bit. With the amount of side stories, and the length of the individual stories, especially with the speed of the game, I sometimes wished things would go a bit faster. But that's just not the nature of the game. Also this game doesn't really hold your hand, as you would expect to be the case, so in some instances things might take time to learn or look up, especially more complex mechanics and synergies. However, quests and stories (aside from side stories) are generally pretty straight forward. Side stories are less obvious but typically not overly complex and also aren't too tough to look up. In the end, a rewarding game. I'll take a break before exploring Octopath 0, but I know it will be a good journey when I get there.

HD-2D画面美到窒息，西木康智的音乐更是顶级水准。战斗系统深度十足，新增的昼夜与潜能机制让可玩性大增。剧情虽有争议但比前作进步明显，角色间互动也多了。JRPG爱好者不容错过。
