I liked the nostalgic graphics, but after starting the game, that was all that kept me going for as long as I did because everything about the experience was rough. Some objects don't have collision, others will allow your character to slightly clip through at certain sides, story is very dull, almost every bit of the environment looks the same before reaching the first town, which makes finding items a nightmare, the basic combat is jarring since the enemies don't share that same 90's computer game graphic aesthetic compared to your characters, and the first unwinnable fight went on for way too long, making me think I could win it and waste a bunch of items in the process before taking a massive attack that killed everyone quickly, which should've happened ASAP to let the player know just to give up. In the first town, you're blocked off from advancing the plot until you get enough money, which makes all the rudimentary "sidequests" from NPCs mandatory instead of sounding like they were optional. Enemy variation was very lacking, even at that point in the game. Seeing the first enemy you could've encountered from the beginning of the game just outside of the first town doesn't make the boring battles any more exciting. In fact, it does the opposite.

The game is fairly short (about 4 to 5 hours depending on skill), but it definitely dodges the bloat I've seen in similar games that try to do too much. The dialogue can be a bit awkward, and it has all of the flaws that come with any RPG maker game, but on the whole it's a satisfying experience to play through.
None of the "No" reviews played up to the 2/3 hour point where the game "develops". They were in the training opening area. PROS: + music + art - good not great, character art good + quests + characters npc: not too talkative but have character + playable: keeps a pace, leveling up is not a chore CONS: - short game, < 6 hr at most - collisions with objects (I must walk around a flower? come on!!) I was skeptical higher res graphics would mean "failed attempt at release": nope, plays fine. What seemed to be "possibly" clunky battle engine at first actually works - I found going out of town to level up as something i'd enjoy doing not a chore. The higher res graphics "doesn't add much" (as opposed to adding, say, length), but hey, at least they didn't destroy anything either.
Easy to play and great quick game i believe might be wrong though.
This rpgmakers game pretty boring
