Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Aug 24 → 1.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Occupy Mars is a technical, open-world sandbox, survival game about Mars colonization inspired by the most promising technologies and companies that are working towards the goal of humanity becoming a multi-planet species.
Explore different regions of Mars while searching for valuable resources, discover mining sites, and find the best place to build a city. Remember that you need to find a relatively leveled area with good access to underground water in a place where temperatures don't drop too much during the night.

Build and upgrade your base, craft equipment, mine resources, produce water, oxygen and food, explore an open world, and repair complex machinery in a technical survival sandbox.

Manage your energy production and build your electricity grid. Make sure that there is enough water, oxygen, power, and food to survive.

Fix broken parts using realistic electronic components and tools. Learn the basics soldering, using hot air, measurement tools, and all the details necessary to fix your equipment.

Upgrade your vehicles and equipment in your garage. Organize your workshop and modify your rover. Change crane hydraulics, operate the robotic arm, dig for valuable resources, build mining rigs, and more...

Build greenhouses, oxygen tanks, fuel generators, connect all the pipes and cables, and remember about proper cable management. Grow your own food.

Experience an open-world sandbox game with a realistic day/night cycle and overcome real challenges that colonists face. Build solar arrays and batteries for energy storage, upgrade them, and find the optimal way to power your colony.

Occupying Mars is not always easy. Sometimes things will explode, break or not go exactly as planned. Learn to cope with "Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly.” Sometimes you have to really act quickly before you run out of air, food, or energy.

...but most importantly HAVE FUN on Mars!

I absolutely not recommend this game to anyone who does not like to inflict a emotional self damage to themselves. I started with a high excitement, I wanted to enjoy a great game, but the least expected that a fully released game will be of a general standard. That made me very generous of overlooking the flaws I encountered the first hours. Should it was possible in 2 hours to realise that this game has serious issues I would have returned it. Being curious, I went through sweat and tears 100+ hours to arrive in front of the doors of the rocket that completes the game just to realise the doors don't open and the true ending was the blue screen that popped up during the elevator ride showing the time spent in the game. The game is a hodgepodge of some sort of a technical demo for a scientific audience with some features of a video game. The features have very poor implementation, the game is ridden with flawed designs and logic beside bugs around the core gameplay. Perhaps the dev is a very small team learning to create a game. I have noted down many issues but this is not the place. Very briefly, in the game you will see a lots of poor nonsense ragdoll when player falls, and it will fall a lot, a lots of heavy rover vehicle rolling like a mad ball flying into the skies and across the map, the player being thrust from a bike driving speed 2-3 of the max 70, thrust into skies, across the map, vehicles when reset will be sent kilometers from any location you ever visited and many times being prevented to do the basic ore grabbing while mining with the heavy vehicle. To anyone who want to cook a food, I hope you will enjoy a yummy soup made of beetroot, potato with aluminum and silicon instead of water. Many chemical recipes calling for oxygen, water and co2 with be happy with only aluminum and silicon or empty bottles. And getting a key ingredient for the rocket of which you need around 1000 is possible to get only by clicking it one-by-one with 2-3 seconds animation in between. The true title of the game should change from Occupy Mars to Escape Mars since that is what the player is working towards the whole gameplay. Seeing the poorness of the implementation I have no confidence that this dev could ever finish it into general standard. I myself am sorry about this affair.
The controls are terrible. Interface is simply horrid.
well that was a waste of my money
I'm very disappointed. 1. It says the game is a full version—a release. Actually, two technologies aren't available yet. But the most important thing is that when you build the rocket and go up to the command center, all the game tells you is "Mission Complete." Is that it? Are you serious? No cutscenes for returning home or any more problems to solve before takeoff. This is disregard for players. Why even release it then??? 2. The world isn't seamless. Therefore, there are loading times between titles (chunks). Why add high-speed vehicles (jetpacks, turboovers) that can cause a crash if the problem of freezing between chunk preloads isn't solved? In other games, either make the world completely seamless or add fast travel points without high-speed gadgets that can kill you. I tried lowering the graphics settings to the minimum. The problem isn't solved. 3. Uranium rods periodically disappear from centrifuges. This happens if you exit the game and trash your save file. And haven't removed the rods before. 4. The unload button on the heavy Mars rover sometimes disappears. I noticed this most often after filling the truck bed, using a miner. It's fixed by saving and loading. 5. It says this is a sandbox game. Oh, how risky. The main problem with all sandboxes. What do you do after? When everything has already been discovered and explored. In this game, there's not much to do halfway through. There's no point in cutting up abandoned colonies. You don't really need a miner. Everything is mined using a large crusher with a printer. And by breaking rocks in the area. It's faster and easier. I don't know how the developers will solve this problem. I would make Earth-based counter-terrorism, for example. After the main character builds a rocket, he receives a new mission from Earth and a promotion to chief engineer of the planet. Your task is to extract and deliver valuable resources to Earth. And simultaneously, build a colony city for future colonists. You can also add alien biology. Fossilized eggs exist, so you can include that in the contract, too. And a super task. Prepare for initial terraforming. Level the ogre plot with a bulldozer. Build huge drills to release gas into the atmosphere. Oxygen-generating domes, create rain, algae, etc. This is just an example. To retain players. You can also add an online leaderboard for mining, terraforming, or something else. By season. And give exclusive rewards for this: costumes, badges, winner's cups, etc. 6. Some games successfully mix genres. For example, a first-person game and the events switch to an orthographic projection like in an RTS. This can be done here too. For example, resource extraction and base management are in first person. And the colony city construction and automation are already like an RTS, like Factorio. I really hope the developers have something to surprise us with and make us play it constantly, as befits the sandbox genre. Instead of finishing it in 80 hours and putting it on the shelf.
mildstone markers in game triggs are off balance- ie while driving rover ya use twice the amout of supplies verses just running to where ya want to go. hello should be same as sitting in main hq hab driving wo o2! next on was just cause ya mine but load of rock w rover and crush it triggers your well to run dry no mater what ya do even if ya turn everything off will empty it! turn fun survice into on my xxxx why game- just like disappering mre packs if ya have more than 60 on ya will delete them!
