Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Aug 22 → 0.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

ATTENTION: On mac, steam integration doesn't work. Cloud saves are empty, no achievements unlock. After beginning the game, you are told speak to a character behind a door for info, and have to ring a doorbell to speak to him. I rang the doorbell, nobody answered. Again and again. Being a distinctly vague exploration puzzle game, I assumed I was missing something, so I went looking. In reality, there was nothing to find, just a buggy game, that didn't run correctly. Restarting the program had him answer the door. This epitomises the entirety of the game. An unfortunate failure due to being unpolished, buggy and having many aspects not well thought out, puzzles included. In Myst and Riven, you explored the environment to find the answer to a puzzle, then solving it usually took a moment. There are no really challenging puzzles here. You know the answer immediately, and then follow drawn out actions to solve them - with obscene amounts of repetitious traversal and slow loading screens. Why do I have to walk between two buttons over and over again, 4 minutes between them each time, when the puzzle would be solved in 5 minutes if the buttons were just next to each other? It's just bad design. There are just so many gripes like those above just screaming that the game wasn't play tested well: - The game normally shows directions to move mechanisms, except for one or two where you are meant to "figure it out". This inconsistency just makes it unclear it's a mechanism. either include directions on all or none. - The cursor can click the wrong item if the items are small and close together, even though the cursor is on the correct one. There are some small inputs and this is a nightmare. - Bizarre puzzles that require US geographical knowledge? - Literally broken steam integration. - Bad optimisation. This whole game has like mid graphics and literally everything is static, why does loading take so long? Why make puzzles based around loading screens? What? There are things to like (environments) and there was potential, but it was just left to fall flat by laziness IMO.

Incredible game. Puzzles were challenging but not impossible. Take notes of alot of things and youre set, wish i could play it for the first time again
Awesome game for those that like ton use their brains and solve puzzles with logic. Creative world and level design, nice story, overall 8/10. But very slow :D
Not as good as Riven, but on the same track, and fun enough if you like that sort of thing.
Great puzzle game with a good background story. It is a great continuation of the previous Myst games.
Anyone giving this game a bad review will be the people that are unable to comprehend the puzzles it consists of. This game is a puzzle masterpiece and hopefully cyan will go this route again in the future because although I enjoyed firmament, it was nothing in comparison.
Very good puzzle game. Its a modern continuation of the Myst formula, but the linking books are replaced with a new mechanic that is beautifully integrated into both the story and puzzle mechanics. Cyan still knows how to make these sort of games. Incredible work! The game had some issues with Proton compatibility. It requires Proton GE, or the media foundation dll to get the videos to work. By default all the video files were just colorbars, and audio for about 1 second. They are essential to the story, so I don't recommend this on steam deck unless you're prepared for the small amount of technical work needed get it working properly.
I come from a family of puzzle adventure game junkies, I've played every Myst game, as well as puzzle adventure games from other studios like Quern, Ether One, and Manifold Garden; Obduction was an interesting one for me. While the world design was excellent, and it felt like people actually lived there at some point (I love that hidden bar). The puzzles themselves suffered. They felt way watered down compared to Cyan World's other works such as Riven and even Uru CC/Uru Live. You might utilize the swapping mechanics to unlock different areas occasionally (one of my favorite mechanics in this game), but outside of that it was back to "Oh hey there's a number system which I need to learn to get part of a code for a door with a keypad" and less interacting naturally with the environment (Like in Riven, Uru Live and even Myst 4) to discover clues to an eventual puzzle. Here the number system felt like a box check, more than something artfully added to the game world like in Riven. But by far the worst part of the game is the maze, yes I would take a million Riven waffle makers (the final major puzzle in the large golden dome) over that stinking maze. It's jarring, considering the pattern established for that world, uses backtracking to bloat game time and is effectively the only major puzzle in that world. Over all, this is one of those games that I wish I could give a neutral review to. On the technical side the game is executed well, performance is fine sans loading screens (but that was more of an issue when the game released {or if you still put the game on an HDD}, it's fine on modern SSDs). It's also still enjoyable despite the flaws.
This game is an absolute masterpiece. It delivers 101% of the delight you might hope for if you imagine the Riven vibe was executed by the original creators in a science fiction format instead of a fantasy fiction format. Everything is absolutely on point: massive mysterious freely explorable and richly lived-in world, abstract emotive music stings that emerge at just the right times, and a sense of wonder as you study the world and try to make sense of the larger story you've been dropped into. The music from the trailer is really badly chosen. The vibe is not hard rock, it's Riven. I simply cannot imagine a plausible way recent reviews might only be Mixed. This game is a modern classic.
神秘岛系列的精神续作,引入了全3D的第一人称视角和VR支持。 四个大区域。背景有点类似穹顶之下。和神秘岛系列比跨区域解谜好像多了点儿。
